After the fertilized egg travels down the fallopian tube to the uterus, around 6-12 days after fertilization, it undergoes a process called implantation. The embryo's attachment to the uterine lining is known as the endometrium. Once the blastocyst contacts the endometrium, some of its outer layer cells, known as the trophoblast cells, proliferate. Then they lose their cell membranes, merge, and act as a single structure called syncytiotrophoblast. This multi-nucleate cytoplasmic mass aggressively burrows and digs its way into the endometrium and invades the uterine wall. It also starts to secrete a hormone called HCG. Hcg is a pregnancy hormone that is crucial in maintaining the corpus luteum. The corpus luteum produces progesterone and stops the menstrual cycle. hCG helps sustain the corpus luteum until the placenta takes over hormone production. hCG is often used as a marker for pregnancy detection. Pregnancy tests detect the presence of hCG in urine or blood to confirm pregnancy. hCG ALSO helps establish immune tolerance in the mother's body and modulates the immune response to protect the fetus from being recognized as foreign tissue. Elevated levels of hCG during early pregnancy are associated with morning sickness, which includes symptoms such as nausea and vomiting.

Amazing and informative as always. It’s not granted to many a female or couple. A few parts of this video I gathered is more medical school related and not taught in age appropriate sex education classes. Understood. Alas, I found out through a distant relative in 2015 what cervical mucous was and it’s importance. Mind you, I was already five or six years post menopausal. It's fascinating just how much a woman's body is impacted during the pregnancy process. It shows just how important she is and the alternative side is just how little man kind treats woman, their role, value that they bring to the table. The mere fact with out the woman there are no children, that the child in reliant on the mother for every thing it requires to grown and develop. Each change that womens go is really a changeable time of harmones and mood,women who get husband who understands each mood swing is very lucky,but I pray to those women who still struggle in every mood swings of pregnancy should need to be educated,if doctors(gynaecologist)would take the responsibility of explaining or just talking to husbands,today atleast men could have understood the pain,doctors instead say sab thik hai kaam karo ,some Village people really make hard work for ladies who are pregnant for normal delivery, doctors must be a good friend too,in this situation..

A normal delivery needs a midwife. Doctors should only attend instrumental deliveries such as forceps, c/sections. The WHO recommendations highlights t'he importance of midwives to promote normal and more physiological deliveries. Having a baby laying down on a bed IS not physiological, yet It IS a Dr. Friendly position.
