During the 4 years they recorded Divisive, two of the band members' marriages broke down. Drummer Mike Wengren got divorced early in the pandemic and guitarist Dan Donegan went through a split in early 2022. This song is about a disintegrating relationship where each party struggles with letting go. It was inspired by the ending of Donegan's marriage. "That was a really personal one for me," Dan Donegan told Billboard. "During COVID-19, I was going through a divorce after 18 years of marriage. Part of that divorce process is that there was still a great deal of love we have for each other, and we couldn't imagine our lives without each other. Just that letting go, letting somebody go that you still love, but maybe the marriage just might not be working anymore... It was touching on that. It was just very personal." Donegan came up with the concept, then wrote the lyrics with Disturbed singer David Draiman. "I threw a few lines at him, and he took the ball and ran with it." Donegan said. Then Feb 2023 David Draimen also got divorced.

David would probably outperform anyone in a duet, but I think David and Ann were equally matched in performance on this song. It honestly seemed natural and their voices blended so well. I really liked this! Another good choice, Dane!

Love this song! Only the second time I've heard it but sounds like an anthem already. Love the 'Sound of Silence' vibe to it also. ❤ As you mentioned; two powerhouses together makes epic music. Thanks for the reaction!

Yeah and Disturbed is taking Plush out on tour with them and Moriah sounds just like Ann so it will be great hearing her sing those parts live! Great song.

I saw them last August. Backstage VIP. It was the most incredible thing ever to meet these guys. Got a signed album too. And Fuzz was there too! Not for every song, but a few here and there. It was wild seeing them all on stage like that

@@DaneBramageROCKSyeah I went with my best friend and she was the first one that noticed. She kinda elbowed me and got close and said "dude...is that Fuzz?!" And I did a double take and sure enough, it was him. It was already after the meet & greet so I didn't get to ask what was up with that. We've seen Disturbed together several times now in recent years and definitely would've noticed if it were a regular occurrence. It was surreal.

What an awesome power ballad! These two are pure power! Would love for them to connect for more! Loved this song when it first dropped but now adding the video…FIRE!!! So glad you did this. Disturbed just started a tour on Friday with Plush opening for them. David wanted them on the tour because he knew of their talents, and he wanted to be able to do their new hit Don't Tell Me and have Moriah do Ann Wilson's part. There's a video of the debut on Friday of them doing Don't Tell Me on KZbin with Moriah singing with david. It's a must see, she killed it. You should react to it.

Yup!! Saw it and also caught the practice sessions they did before the show. This was a great idea to have Plush tour and fill in for Ann. What a great team they make.

I love this song, I can't stop listening to it since the video was released last week. Disturbed and Heart are 2 of my all time favourite bands, and David and Ann are 2 of the best vocalists of all time. Their voices compliment each other so well, it's just awesome. Ann is 73 and man has she still got it, truly a living legend. Great reaction Dane... 🤘🤘 EDIT: Just a FYI Dane, you said the bass player John Moyer has been the only change to the line up. Actually David Draiman isn't the original vocalist. The band started out in 1994 and were called Brawl back then, the lead singer was a guy called Erick Awalt. David replaced him in 1996 and they changed the name of the band to Disturbed. They then as you said released their debut album The Sickness in 2000... 🤘🤘

Yo!! Yeah, I love this song as well, and yes, true about Brawl. But they disbanded and published an ad in Chicago for a band looking for a singer and David responded. The rest, as they say, is history.

I’m love Disturbed and Ann Wilson! I’ve seen Ann in her solo show twice! Disturbed is on my bucket list , but live in N. California. Not sure they’ll get close to me. I’m sure you’re aware that David was trained as a Jewish Cantor in his youth? Cantors have to have a certain resonating, pure tone to even train.
