Sometimes, people come from environments where government officials don’t work as they are supposed to. I once flew to the Dominican Republic, and I had brought some morcillas (blood sausage) from a specific store a friend of mine, whom I was visiting, had requested that I bring...and I didn’t know morcillas were a prohibited item! When I declared it, the customs officer actually suggested that I give him some US$, so he’d look the other way. People from such environments probably expect the immigration officers in UK, US, etc. to be the same way.

How come someone from Brazil gets held for two days and then sent back, but from anywhere else, they are let go and then disappear?
@louisbouchard68694 жыл бұрын
First off, it depends on if they can find a passport for that person. If immigration does find a passport, then regardless of the county, the deportation can simply take days because that is what immigration needs to send the person back. If no passport can be found, then it depends on the other country as to how long it takes to send the person back. Some countries can be quick in issuing emergency travel documents, others can be notoriously slow. When it takes 12 months to get documents, there is not enough room to hold those people so immigration lets them go.
@janesmith90244 жыл бұрын
I suspect it may be because they are in an area of the UK which is rural and a long way from London so have many many fewer immigration issues so have the time and money to do things properly. it is harder in London where they seem to let most of them go

Just like in the USA many are visa overstays. They get in legally then decide not to leave. In the USA the universities and colleges don't care as long as they got paid for the time the student was in classes. IF the student stops attending classes the attitude of the university or college is : So what, we got our money. Many universities and colleges in the USA actively support overstays by refusing to proactively report student visa violations to law enforcement agencies and immigration enforcement agencies.

@Kathleen Henson Typical yank on here, bragging about how you do things so much tougher in the good old US. I wouldn't be proud of not only owning a gun but implying I would use it against someone running away.

NZSooz I’m in Canada and think guns should be only registered and agreed that they need them to protect themselves for legal and definitely not illegal ones

I did feel they just did not feel like a very fast run to chase after them - I suspect they don't do running training as part of their job

13:25 The agents or rather the joker in charge read her, her rights to remain silent. She should not have spoken, told, or brought the agents to her home. The officers committed several violations by causing her to speak when she was within her right to remain silent. You can see the stupid face and the joy it causes him to see the girl in disgrace. Never laugh at your neighbor's misfortune because yours is on the way.

I love how everyone is an internet lawyer, but never tell us what the “several violations” were. Hahahaha! Don’t let your feelings make you look so stupid. If they’ve committed so many infractions, it’s literally on TV, so turn them in fool.

Absolutely pathetic the owner and driver are fined for doing nothing wrong and the staff stand and smile at the illegal immigrants and say they will try again ,and some other poor driver doing his job will also get fined ,it’s time all our British truck owners and drivers should be lobbying the British government to get the stupid law changed stop paying the fines ,or blockade the ports for a week as protests,if that doesn’t work block the whole of London with lorries until the government gets this sorted it’s been going on to long
