Loving your videos as they have helped me plan my surf trips with so much ease! Could you do a more detailed guide to J-Bay and the area pls? I am trying to go there soon but don't know much about it (other than the wave itself).

The reason Cape Town gets colder in the summer is due to the prevailing South Easter. This wind blows the warm surface water off shore and is replaced by cold water upwelling from deep ocean. You'll notice that the West side of the Peninsula is much colder than the East side (False Bay).

Random question bro, Ive surfed Sumatra before & got cut up by reef without issue.. I'm off to Ulu's tomorrow & traveling around the west coast. Fun looking swell hitting.. it will be my first time in Bali. I see so many articles and videos about wounds getting severely infected over there... Do you have any experience? I'm talking some surfers on the edge of death due to infection some seemingly small and insignificant wounds. I already have a few small cuts on my feet from here in Oz.. they don't have time to heal before getting to ulu haha. Any advice appreciated, cheers Dan

Hi mate! Good Q. Cuts are more or less inevitable in Indo, but I'd suggest cleaning them thoroughly (use Idodine) and then tapping them up if you need to surf!!
