I don't smoke cause I grew up in a very dirty household and I would do dishes and laundry and clean and it never felt like it was clean and then I went to my friend's house and I noticed that her walls were white and in her parents room they were a beigeish color so I asked why only her parents room was painted and she said threat it wasn't but her dad was only allowed to smoke in their room or outside and the smoke caused the walls to be that color and when I got home I realized that my dad smoked all over our house so I went to my grandma and she gave me some bleach to take home and while the rest of my siblings and my dad were at my grandmother's house for the weekend I stayed home and bleached the walls. I was so exhausted after all of this that I collapsed from exhaustion and Leah fumes and got really sick so I decided that I was never gonna put my kids through that and that I would never smoke and my husband or wife would not smoke either because third hand smoke is a actually a big problem especially for small children. So yeah that's why I don't smoke.

:( I feel you on the mucusy thing, don't worry you're not alone. my parents say they don't smoke inside but i'll find cigarette ashes and cigarette buts dumped in things around the house, like in the sink and in cups in the window. the smell is so strong too. the best thing you can do if she doesn't quite, and even if she does, is air out as much of the house as you can, and wash up around the house, especially fabric. the heavy metals in cigarettes cling to fabric, and are a lot of the time the biggest problem. inhaling these heavy metals is harmful, and can damage/ cause cancer in your lungs. if your sister's asthma is really bad I would recommend her going somewhere else while you do this, as you'll stir up a lot of dust and cigarette grossness. also might help if you wear a dust mask, or something similar while you clean, to reduce risk for yourself.
