Daniel's misfortune was almost unbelievable. He lost with a pair of nines against an ace-high flop, his nines were outmatched by pocket aces, he held ace-queen of clubs only to be defeated by a king-two that made a runner runner flush on the turn and river with the deuce, and his pair of fives, with one diamond, was beaten by queen-ten when the flop brought a ten and three diamonds. This is a prime example of sheer bad luck.
