Haha yeah exactly, and on top of that before you enter the Forest Temple you're gonna have to somehow get past these huge roid-raged Warthogs! Man those things used to really freak me out as a kid. Believe it or not I actually beat the Fire Temple before the Forest Temple the first time around, and it was all because I didn't want to face those crazy things. I'm not sure how many Zelda fans know this, but you don't absolutely have to have the bow to beat the Fire Temple, or at least that was my experience as a kid...

Yeah to be honest I always found the Forest Temple music just very bizzare more than anything, and it's probably because I first heard it after facing those evil roid-raged wart hogs in battle armor, so at that point I felt like I could take on just about anything after facing them! What's funny is it creeps me out more as an adult than it did when I was 7 or 8 years old. However, since we're now making Zelda confessions, I'll fully admit that the Well/Shadow Temple music had me shitting my pants beyond all reason, (and to this day it still does lol.)

There is something very powerful about this song.... It's history, the temple being first built, the soldiers retreating back to this fortress, and the ghosts that look the eerie temple years after the war. This temple is so beautiful and gives off an emotional feeling. Ocarina of time is easily the best game out there in my opinion. Sometimes I want to cry listening to this song. It is so peaceful yet so eerie yet so calm. Love it.

I've always interpreted the high pitch noises as Link's younger self. The reason why is because the cutscene before this temple is Sheik telling you memories never leave with time; they are always present with you.

I have never in my life found this track, or even this temple creepy. I've always found it kind of soothing. I don't know where all the fear is coming from. Still, I sometimes wonder what the purpose of this building was. It's hidden in the deepest part of a forest that's not only incredibly easy to get lost in, but teleports you to places miles away within a blink of an eye. It's heavily guarded with giants with spears, and it has some connection with the spirits. The worst part? It's all starts at a village filled with kids... THAT CANT GROW UP. Yet, they can go to this place at will. Not to mention that they're the ONLY ONES WHO CAN GO THERE, since they have fairies. Yeah, on second thought, this place is nightmare fuel.
@Mauricio097310 жыл бұрын
probably to protect/awaken the forest sage, because, Saria went to it, probably called by the temple itself, that's why Ganondorf put monsters and Phantom Ganon on it
@xXiizlinkXx10 жыл бұрын
That's a very good point. Still, the explanation of it being able to warp you to a place half way across Hyrule is a mystery
@krognak10 жыл бұрын
Yeah I hear you, the reason this place was freaky was I think because it felt lost and abandoned - much like how you feel when venturing all alone as adult Link into a darker world. It was almost apocalyptic...deep in the woods, all alone with ghosts and freaky hands lurking within. *shivers*
@DrFeelGood666710 жыл бұрын
Well there has been theories that the Poe Sisters used to own the mansion before the Kokiri lived there, and they were connected to the Royal Family, and were the "guardians" of the Forest Medallion. When the forest started to over take the land, and the geography started to change (which it does a lot in Hyrule), they basically became trapped within the Lost Woods. They then went mad over the years, and died. During the 7 years that Link was asleep, Ganondorf found this old temple and placed his Phantom there, and awakened the Poe Sisters from their sleep, thus bringing their Spirits back as Poes.
@adri2shadow10 жыл бұрын
yeah yeah very very soothing, i used to spend hours on the temple just to hear the music, especially on those places where you can see the sky
@adan237410 жыл бұрын
The Forest Temple imo has sort of a hypnotic blend of very strange noises, yet it's still a soft tranquil tune that's not too intense, and fits the atmospheric presence of the temple itself perfectly, with the dark blue and grayish colored walls near the entrance and onto the main room with the elevator that takes you down to the boss' lair after lighting the four torches. Not to mention the other room with the floating blue fired skullatas, or the spiral hallway, leading onto the room with the giant hand monster that forms a circular shadow right before it drops on you. When I hear this song I actually picture it's presence in different colored dots with an all black background, the colors of all four ghosts you have to fight, and the dots are moving forward toward me, kind of like on a old computer screen saver or something. (I tend to get a little nostalgic when I hear these brilliant compositions lol)

I think that person, or rather, those people, are the Poe Sisters. It's my belief that in the distant past they owned and lived in the mansion. When they died, they were so attached to the place that their souls refused to pass on. When Link "kills" them by destroying their spiritual vessels, they still cannot leave because of the presence of the evil Phantom Ganon. By defeating him, Link unknowingly calms the Sisters' minds and allows them to finally depart for the afterlife, knowing their precious mansion is safe.

The Forest Temple is a mansion. There's a theory that it was used as a final stronghold during the Hylian Civil War, the same war that Link's mother escaped from and left him to The Great Deku Tree. Although, the temple looks alot more eroded and damaged for onlt 17 years later.. Maybe it happened at an earlier time in the war?

This is my favorite temple in the entire game. The whole place is mystic. Fire Temple wass boring, until I got to Volvagia and then the Dragon trolling began. Water Temple was aight, not as bad as people say. Shadow Temple was when shit was shat. Bongo Bongo was not hardly worth the time and effort placed. Since Ijust fucked with him, doing single Sword slashes, to extend gameplay. Spirit temple was fine, but long. I know I'm missing something. Light,Forest, Fire, Water, Shadow,Spirit, that's 6 out of the seven emblems. Unless the 7th was Zelda. God damn it, I forget. But you catch my drift.

I can tell you're trolling me by not knowing what his name is. As he is in 90% of the games, in the smash bros game, expect for 64, haven't played that,. but I know he's in melee, brawl, not sure about the 4th, as it is not out. Unless you are making fun of my typing, which is only because I type faster then my mind can think, so it results in some pretty interesting combonations. I would not refer to Ganons Castle as a temple, but I wouldrefer to it as a dungeon. Or a playground, as I likw to call it, as I enjoyed it.

Pro tip: Wallmasters are actually pretty avoidable, especially in the Forest Temple. A low but audible sound plays as it falls and a shadow appears on the floor. Just listen for the sound and when you hear it, start running in circles. Sure the shadow follows you at first, but it quickly becomes stationary. At that point just wait outside its shadow for it to land, then give it a few slashes and boom. It's dead. You don't have to run in circles though. As long as you keep moving until the shadow stops. When you become familiar with its specific locations (ie. what rooms it's in), you can just step in the room, wait for the sound, and take a couple steps back or to the side. It'll fall, it won't grab you, and you can kill it easy. And once it's dead, it doesn't reappear in that room until you leave and reenter.

This music with the introduction to the floor masters for the first time and all the scary things like ghosts was really cool to have in the game.It's like it suddenly added a new element to the game, like this new feeling that the game could give off an uncanny feeling that you didn't know the game could have.

I love this specific temple. The music, the boss, the ghost with the flames. It's just a shame it wasn't a little longer

I was 12 years old when I played this game and all I can think of hearing the 'uhn uhn uhn uhn' in the background was Link having sex, because you played as adult Link, and adults have sex. Since that moment I wondered how it would be to have sex and started thinking about it more regularly. You can say that this song pretty much started my sexual nature and drive. That being said and listening to it nowadays, this song holds something very primal, I never found it creepy or scary.

Starting around 1:03, it sounds like voices in the background, behind the shriller woodwind melody. It's hard to tell, but it sounds a bit like tone-shifted Link grunts. Dark Link's voice seems to use a similar technique. Imagine being in a place so vast and labyrinthine that you start hearing the echoes of your own voice so long after the fact... Creepy.

I liked all the temples, except for water temple. Quit this arguing nonsense, all temples(besides water temple) were great.

the water temple was actually quite decent (and on par with the fire temple in my opinion) in ocarina of time 3D.

I agree...I used to put this game on specifically to go to this temple and listen to this music. I'd play it for like 10-15 minutes...sometimes 20 minutes...non stop. Just getting lost in it's greatness. Still my number one fav track out of any game! Zelda music was the best...and this song was the best of the best.

I like how eerie and otherwordly this temple was. While the later temples were tamer than this, it felt like a good introduction to the adult half of the game. The fact that this temple is right on Link's home turf just makes it even better.

Awesome picture! It looks not only dark and eerie, representing the music, but it also has everything to do with the temple itself. Love this game, love it's music' love it's design. LoZ is the lifeblood for sure

You know, it's strange. After years of not playing this, and not really caring about the temple in the first place when I played it as a kid. I realized replaying this game that the music as well as the temples unsettling atmosphere perfectly compliments eachother, and it's in my top 10 zelda songs of all time.

Best temple music in OoT. I find it weird when people say that the forest temple scared or unnerved them. I found the whole place serene and mystifying. Hell, you clear out the monsters and traps and it would be an awesome place to live.

This temple terrefied me when I were younger, it reminded me of getting lost in the woods and how much more scary the forest becomes at night or when you go just a tad bit deeper than you should have. It also annoyed me because I thought you were supposed to follow the music, so whenever the 2:28 started playing I thought I were going to right way

It's playful and creepy at the same time. The flutes sound like a playful song, as if reminding Link of his childhood, but then there's the creepy tones, reminding him his friend is in grave danger, and that his world has completely changed...that seven years have passed in what felt like only a few seconds. His home is now overrun with monsters, and he has discovered most of the village thought he killed the Great Deku Tree. All the horrible things have happened because he had opened the temple at Princess Zelda's orders, causing Ganondorf to be able to get the Triforce.

The Shadow Temple may be my second most fearful child hood moment however the Forest Temple had that eerie sense to it which just made me want to beat the temple ASAP and as soon as i did i would never return THAT place,the Forest Temple....
