Can I Beat EVERY POKÉMON CONTEST With My FAVORITE POKÉMON?

Hey everyone, welcome to this latest video project, all about Pokemon Contests! And just two days out from my birthday on the 14th, too, haha. This is, by a pretty significant margin, actually, the longest video I've ever put this kind of editing into, and one of my longest videos overall that's not a Let's Play or a Creepytober video, and this took quite a bit of time to put together. That said, I really hope you all enjoy it, and I'd super-appreciate if you did all the fancy call-to-action stuff this time around (hitting the Like button, sharing it on your socials, leaving a comment, etc.), ya know, all those things that really help get a video pushed out to more people. In any case, this was a super-fun one to make, and I'm actually really kinda proud of some of the specific editing choices I made throughout, including a couple things I hadn't really tried all that much. I think this came out pretty nicely, all things considered! And in any case, I'm always glad for an excuse to play a Pokemon game that has Absol in it for an extensive period of time, especially if a cool video can spawn from it, so there's also that, haha. Anyway, I'm not sure when exactly my next video will go out? It'll likely be somewhere in the first half of December, depending on certain factors, but that's what I'm aiming for. Unless plans change, the way I figure in my head is that it'll either be another "What If...?" video OR a Story Anatomy video looking at a specific Duel from Season 3 of Yu-Gi-Oh GX, so hopefully that'll be out before too long! I've been playing Omega Ruby recently and contests are something that i can really aprecciate, it's a totally optional feature but a fun one, it great when pokémon games gives you something to do besides battling ( got every master rank with Flygon, didn't really had much trouble though with maxed condicions ) the contests in BDSP are fun too, even though they are just a rhythm games now

Arceus, I LOVED doing contest back when I was playing Emerald as a child even if I didn't understand half of the things I was doing. And I had so much fun playing them in the remake too! I remember that I used a specific Pokemon for each category and totally got swept by Lisia and Altaria sometimes haha This has given me the idea of trying this myself to get all ribbons with my Latios or maybe even my Groudon just for the funsies lmao Amazing video! 🎉

I raised a team of five Pokémon to tackle the ORAS Contest circuit, each of them specializing in a specific category: Lucario for Toughness Milotic for Beautiful Serperior for Cleverness Typhlosion for Coolness And, last but absolutely not least, Latias for Cuteness Latias was my MVP, getting full audience bonuses left and right. While Latios was a big part of my main team, Latias shined in the Contest side of things. She even beat Lisia in one go.

@@SuperNerdDaniel Yup. Speaking of Secret Bases, it took me a while, but I managed to reach Platinum Rank for my Secret Base on Secret Shore. I filled my base up with Blissey Trainers to make Exp. grinding a breeze. I filled up dozens of Pokédex entries with them, even if leveling up sometimes took ages.

Well, that was a fun ride! Contests were so much fun in Generation 3, even though I didn't know what I was doing and didn't make it to the upper levels much at all. When I eventually get around to playing OR/AS, I want to catch Pokemon outside of my play-through team and build them move sets specifically for Contest performance. Not sure if I want to get all the way to the top with the same Pokemon, though; that sounds like a lot of work.

not gonna lie one of my BIGGEST disappointments in ORAS was the lack of the actual pokeblock minigame... it was so fun and you could link up online/with your link cable to work together with friends to get the best blocks possible. I used to do it with my brother

Right? I really do wish they'd carried that over in some way into the remakes, that minigame was really fun! I absolutely appreciate the quality-of-life ease in making Blocks the way that they did it, but like you said, getting together with your friends to make great Blocks was a super-cool thing to do.

I got really into contests in diamond. I absolutely LOVED the poffin mini game. My lopunny was a cutie queen. Unfortunately when it came down to it my brothers Roserade was the victor as a clever girl.

@ we always played so that we were going on our own anime adventures. So we would write and discuss little fanfics about our pokemon. He got all the clever ribbons with his Roserade and I couldn’t get the last cute ribbon with my Lopunny so his Roserade won our anime esque coordination contest

@ eh if I remember correctly, in diamond and pearl their natures actually affected their contest viability. Pokémon could have preferences on which kind of poffins they liked. My Loppuny liked the beauty poffins but had more cute moves so I tried to increase her cute score with hybrid beauty and cute poffins, while my brothers roserade preferred the clever poffins so he was able to get max cleverness while I was split between beauty and cuteness

Since it's already a prefect timing, I would bet you'll have to try either Mega Man Characters or Shovel Knight Characters as Pokemon Trainers. Besides, many would believe that the Robot Masters and Order of No Quarter can be more of 8 Gym Leaders. Plus, if you're asking me, Dr. Wily and The Encahantress are also more suitable as Final Boss-level Champions in previous Pokemon games

@@bubbles46853-ep9if Yeah, I actually tried them one time in my Brilliant Diamond LP, and I wasn't super into it? I don't know how they went in the original Gen IV games, so I can't really speak on those. Maybe I'll try the BDSP ones again sometime down the line?

This was such an entertaining video to watch I really wish that people would go more into side games in Pokemon like this. Your characteristic of being the prick made this all the more entertaining and honestly I would totally love to see your character in contest as not only someone who was entertaining and sort of lovable to hate but also the idea that you lost to lisia where I thought it would humble you, no it just strengthened you more. 😂😂 Pretty good first introduction video if there's ever a chance for you to try something like this again I'd love to see it and who knows if you ever consider doing tabletop adventure for Pokemon maybe you can continue this and be a Pokemon coordinator. That would certainly be interesting.

I really miss the berry blender. It was so much fun trying to get perfects with how fast it could go XD Personally I tried to rely on tm moves rather than moves they learn by level up because I didn't want to go back to the move tutor XD Attract rng was so bad lol meanwhile the ai would somehow make all of us nervous or just me.

@@caolanochearnaigh9804 It's a reference to the Yu-Gi-Oh card "Guardian Dreadscythe", a corrupted version of Guardian Eatos, the Ace Monster of Rafael, one of the antagonists from Season 4 of the original Yu-Gi-Oh anime. As the name implies, she has a giant-ass scythe that she uses, and she generally looks cool as fuck, and as soon as I saw that Monster in the show, I started naming my Absols that in pretty much all of my Pokémon playthroughs, haha.
