You may both be right. Smoking garbage crack is not getting high…it’s just geeking. From my personal experience, that’s what the rocking and stuff usually is, geeking cause you need another hit. So glad to be out of that life, but I’m very fortunate I got competent help on the 5th try at treatment. It’s hard to come by! I know people who’ve been to 10+ and still out there. That’s why I’m in the treatment field now. We can do better!

She’s not saying she has houses. She said she has a few spots. Later, she explains that “spots” are where she can kick it. I figured that right away, cause when I was homeless and in that whole scene, I would stay at the trap, or wherever the d boys were at when they were moving around. That’s the spot. She did say she had a stylist job & later forgot and said she would look for a job as a goal, to get herself together. It’s hard to face where you’re at & comforting to just remember where you were, at one time. It helps you not lose touch with your humanity, but we’re still human and worthwhile even when we have problems to solve before we get back on track. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. I had to accept myself and my reality, before I could ask for help from anyone. But I couldn’t do it alone…I needed support. That’s why I welcome people into recovery gently and accept them where they’re at, because someone helped me that way. I don’t think she’s trying to lie. She probably doesn’t know what’s wrong because that hard has got her convinced it’s not the problem. That’s a problem with our human midbrain (the primitive part of brain). It mistakes drugs as the most important thing for survival because, in nature, the things that create dopamine are good for you. Then it shuts off connections to the prefrontal cortex where you think rationally and make good decisions. I’m studying this in grad school & have a CD certificate now. There have been new scientific discoveries, through advanced neuroimaging, that have proved all of that old stuff about honesty and character defects is not actually the cause of addiction. If you’re serious about your recovery, read, “Understanding Addiction: Know Science, No Stigma”, by Smith & Hunt. It’s all in there, and an easy, fast read. Otherwise you can read textbooks that will take a semester and say the same thing. ☮️

“ I don’t do drugs / have a drug problem” says how she goes downtown to smoke / says she smokes crack out of a pipe , but says since it’s “ hard “ it’s just “ like crack” no hard IS the name for crack. I don’t know if she’s just in need of mental health to help her realize she’s using not just smoking something like cigarettes , or if she’s been just that misled and tricked herself into thinking it’s not actually a drug … I wanna know how she got so tan too lol, I’ve seen a lot of darker tans from being outside always but that’s next level. I hope she gets help and comes to realize she’s in need of some serious mental help and awakening in the fact of her usage .. Also most the time smoking hard 20/40 isn’t really making it through the day so kinda surprised with that if she really does make it by with that amount regardless what she’s using.
