Good video JR. I did some video’s of myself this weekend. I’m closer to Danielle’s release, maybe slightly lower. Video shows where you are really at and it’s not usually where you think it’s at.

Daria throws a fantastic ball better than all the female athletes on tour.her game is so solid balance is great and when you see her on power academy she teaches all this stuff.I could watch her bowl for hours and not get bored she's a awesome bowler

Thanks for sharing this one. They are two different styles, but both very affective and good at what they do.

2 current best female bowlers imo. daria's release is scary powerful but mcewan is the definition of consistency

I think Shannon okeefe and that one other chick that’s on storm staff that was their player of the year last year are the best rn. However if you meant best looking I would agree!

Hi JR..... Nice comparison video with perfect angles showing your "points". Dariah's release is a real demonstration of control & strength. NOTE: just as she starts to release the ball .... as you noted her hand does start to move to side of the ball - then if you look closely she makes a very slight hand position adjustment to help keep her hand under the ball just as her fingers come out. Amazing control. Let's not downplay that all this is being done at the end of picture perfect "pendulum" . Amazing strength

enjoy watching the video comparisons, is there a software program that you recommend, that would be good for a beginner to use, to record and analyze themself.

Have you done one of these on Stephanie Zavala yet? She certainly has a powerful ball, lots of revs.... I'm curious what your analysis would be on her.

I throw it like a cross between Danielle and Liz Johnson. Late timing, not a lot of power, the whole deal. Danielle is definitely more matched up than Liz is tho. This definitely takes me out of certain competitions, especially where you gotta strike a lot. Like yesterday I missed cashing by 10 pins cuz I only struck a third of the time. Only ran a little more than one open a game but none of that mattered because I only had 3 or 4 strikes a game. This was on a medium volume 43' pattern. If I had literally one more strike per game, I would have seeded first. That's how close everything was and how much strikes matter in the 2020s. So to me and anyone else who has an RPM rate under, we'll say, 350, you're taking yourself out of certain competitions if you can't create power. ESPECIALLY if you are speed dominant (again, like me lol). There's been tournaments where there was so much oil **coughDRAGONcough** where I literally had to one-step my first ball cuz there was no way it was going to move with my piss poor 175 RPMs and waaaaaay too high ball speed of 17MPH (which, because of the oil, went all the way up into the 20s). JR is doing his viewers a really good service by doing these. Got coaching from him last year and gonna get another session this year because of the changes I've been making.

This makes me wonder: What matters more, the elbow being in or the hand being under the equator of the ball? Whenever I get my hand under it, my elbow flies all the way to the right. Chicken wing swing on steroids. But I definitely get a lot more on the ball that way and it feels way better than how I used to throw it. Does hurt my wrist a bit tho.

In my opinion, the elbow inside is more for accuracy and consistency and underneath the ball is for revs. With the elbow out, it's kinda hard to tell where the ball is going for me, but if my hand is under the ball, I'm gonna have more revs on it

Hi JR, would you consider analyzing Nora Johansson? Female two-hander from Sweden who won multiple medals at the European Youth Championships. Apparently she will be bowling for an American college team starting this year. The Bowling Promotion Cup should have some decent footage of her.

Does anyone have stats on speed and rev rates for Danielle and other PWBA bowlers?
@geoffnash3098 Жыл бұрын
Daria is normally around 450 rev rate where Liz Johnson is around 250 rev rate. Liz Johnson is very accurate. Daria is is accurate also but with tremendous power speed and revs. Daria is the modern power game of today. Today's game is speed and power. Daria trained for a long time at level and this is why she is so good.
