Yes! Danielle and a Voiceplay reaction...makes for a great day!

There are two of their videos that I think you would enjoy and find a lot to talk about. Hall of the Mountain King is without words, but through changes in voicing and tempo they tell their story. Hear the music change each time something is added to the cauldron. The sequel to that is Classical Chaos. Again, no words. But they tell their story through an amazing assortment of classical music. Both are arranged and directed by Layne and can only come from his (sometimes scary) imagination.

Yesss! I love those videos!!!

The carrot is a running gag. I may be wrong, but I think it was first used in the Frozen 2 song they did. Layne used to annoy the heck out of J with carrots. If you watch carefully, the carrot makes lots of appearances in the VoicePlay videos. Awesome review!!!

Thank you Danielle for a wonderful reaction to Voice Play. Geoff is amazing as the evil villain in their covers of Hell Fire from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. His range is amazing. Please do a reaction video to Voice Plays cover of Thriller by Michael Jackson. This is their new Halloween cover that just came out. Please do a reaction video to Voice solo cover Big Iron . We get 5 Geoffs with this one. Also his Halloween solo cover Jacks Lament. His acting skills are out of this world. Please put them on your list.

I forgot Huldra Drako uploaded a video of... Original Big Iron Vs Geoff Castellucci's cover of Big Iron by Marty Robbins. It is a side by side that shows you the words as they sing & you can see all the extra added bridges Geoff added so smoothly. Geoff is the master when it comes to adding extra bridges.

I think it was one of the aca videos from way back when J first started. J is powerless against the carrot Lord

When was a carrot mentioned or even seen???

One of the most fun VP videos I've seen. Great energy and vocal acrobatics. Geoff looks fabulous as the villain. So good to see you again, Danielle. Always enjoy your reactions.

Geoff does have videos on how to sing low on his channel that you should check out if you haven't. I'm just starting my singing journey, but I'm a lower female voice, so an alto/mezzo-soprano, and I'm hoping to expand my range down after watching those videos! Great reaction!

If you watch this with captions on, Geoff’s roar about ⅔ of the way in after his high belt then back down to the basement for “be prepared” is captioned as “Meow!”

the whole thing is delightful! love that same note pulse from mykal too! don't think i've heard anyone else mention it. i'll never stop loving high to basement slides from geoff either.

Mykal went to Broadway when he left VoicePlay. It's good to see him. I understand he'll be back for another round with them. I love Scar played by Geoff. Layne did good. It would be great if you did some more VoicePlay or Geoff. They have been knocking everything way out of the park and you do a great job for the reaction and the analysis too.

Great reaction and analysis! So much goodness to break down in this. I feel like Geoff is really honing his villain game! Everything they do, they get better and better, which is not to take anything away from the great work they've done in the past, and I still have my older favorites, but it's such a joy to see them continually growing with each and every offering. Just when you think they *have* to have reached the apex of their trajectory, they surprise us in a new way and show another aspect of their growth as musicians, arrangers and performers!
@stevegreen67602 ай бұрын
Great analysis as usual! But, as amazing as this is, its not their Halloween release. Just wait for Thriller, which I'm sure you have already reacted to. Watch Layne for where the carrot is.

So glad you're back to VoicePlay! Remembering how impressed you were by Deejay Young (in Bang!) you surely want to listen to two Michael Jackson songs where he's featured with VP: Man in the Mirror (from a few years ago) and The Way You Make Me Feel. Thanks, Danielle!

You need to turn on the captions and watch again. You missed a good joke by not having them on. Also…in the beginning when the background vocals are “ha ha ha” - the three singing that are playing hyenas…laughing hyenas….😉 They just dropped Thriller. few days ago. You need to see that one. 😁

As a baritone, some of Geoff's low notes are beyond what I can do, especially his subharmonics. As a soprano, be glad you can be heard in tenor.
