ironically narcissists detest public humiliation because they don't want people know the truth about them. if you are not in danger of physical violence, give then a taste of their own medicine. as you gain confidence and understanding of what toxic behaviour entails, red flags are no longer just red flags. they're dealbreakers.💯

Me and the narcissist I was dealing with talked about marriage in the future. I took her to a club and some of some associates I know and I didn’t know that well. One of them he asked are you guys married and she walked away from me across from me next to the man that asks and said “no ugh” like she was disgusted by the idea, which was a surprise to me, but I’ve dealt with narcissist before and knew exactly what she was doing. Humiliation and getting new supply is their game. I’m good I broke up with her and I’m not going back. Buh bye UGH!

True. We should never tolerate public humiliation. All narcisists want is power and control in everything they do. Once we recognise somebody is a narcisist we should build strong boundaries and distance ourselves.

My mother loved to do this, but she always took it to the next level. Often she would walk up to a man and start a discussion about my genitals and how I was progressing through puberty... I was a 14 year old girl. When she was called on her despicable behaviour it was met with absolute contempt and ridicule at how I was a prude and needed to stop making a big fuss over it. The woman was a sociopath and the devil incarnate. Never tolerate anyone humiliating you in front of others and especially don't treat children this way.

My Narc never took me anywhere in public. We started out hiking and going to nature places. Then he would agree to go to this or that event, but invariably at the last minute he’d have an excuse. I think he was getting older and more anti-social. He would have occasions to go out with “friends” but never did I meet one, in almost a year. I soon realized these were women that he texted, exes or wanna-be’s. He told me I was the only one who came over to his house. He met his friends other places. I think he was just keeping old supplies on the string. He discarded me once, stayed friends, then I fell for the Holiday Hoover. It was brutal. He was increasingly demonic, screamed for hours and broke up with me on Christmas Day, then threw me out of his house. I had done nothing but bring food & presents, all which he kept. He said later that he was tired and impatient having someone in his house. I had no Christmas meal and he wrapped a couple obviously re-gifted presents for me. I was nothing but sweet, even that day, just waiting out his rage. The whole invitation was his idea! But when I came with a few gifts he said I was smothering him. It was insane and got quite scary. Now he is blocked and I am shattered. Don’t know when I will feel like a person again. Every day is a struggle, but I am committed to remembering the monster, not the charming side. No contact is the only way to stop the abuse.

Well today he thought he was going to smear me to the dollar tree worker but surprise to him. She in front of everyone else said your rude and if I was her I would make your ass walk home. Today is raining cats and dogs. I was so elated like the first time someone stand up for me knowing he is the sick one being crazy and his face was priceless. I called her back to express my gratitude it really made me feel good and made me feel seen. Cause he talks a lot and over anyone and every one . He has to be seen and heard. What a sad story. Wondering if she ended everything with him right there right away. This was a disgrace. Ever disrespectful. He crossed the line. Personally, don't see myself laughing. What was so funny about it?! I'm sorry for what she went through. What a disaster!! Didn't he knew it'll also ruin her make up...etc. Inconsideration and disrespect is one of the Abusive TOXIC Narcissists traits. Shame on him. He brought the shame on himself mostly, not ONLY on his spouse. No doubt, he'll do worse later on in their life. Perhaps, lying to her, cheating on her, back and forth. Abusive Toxic Narcissists cannot be trusted whatsoever. Mentally unstable people. Thanks Danielle for sharing this with everybody. Hopefully, it's a lesson to all. All the best everyone! I had just had eye surgery and was mostly blind when my narc father offered to take me to the grocery store to get some things I needed. We had taken maybe 15 steps into the store when he stopped, turned to me and said "Yeah, you'll be fine." and promptly left me (almost completely blind from eye surgery) to fend for myself in a store full of strangers. Luckily, a few store associates saw what happened and helped guide me through the store so that I could get the things I needed. My dad never once came back for me or looked for me. I had given his description to the employees and they finally found him. He was checking out and on his way out the door to the truck...with his blind daughter still inside the store. I was so broken and humiliated from that that I never trusted him again. And I never will.

I’m in the medical field and my trainer humiliates me almost every single day. He puts me on blast and uses my mistakes as ammunition. Behind my back he will talk smack about me, but infront of my face he acts cool. Then he will talk smack about others to me. Then he goes to those same people to talk smack about me. Last week he said something in front of so many people and I asked myself why he would even do that. Then he gets upset when I don’t know how to do something, but will prevent me from doing things. Complete a$$. No one does anything because he’s very “likable” in regards to his communication skills. He lightly flirts with the girls even when he has a wife. One new coworker wrote her number on my pocket notebook thinking it was his. And he asked me for my notebook so he could save it on his phone …

I'm not sure if I've been publicly humiliated, because I don't know many people or get out much, but I do feel like in general society does seem to carry a lot of darkness. Obviously I screwed up my youth and didn't get educated and financially secure like I should have, so I can see why I'm finding it hard now to navigate this life. Love & friendship does seem like it unfortunately is tied to many different factors, like social, financial, intellectual status? I would imagine though, or hope that narcissistic individuals would probably predominantly be known by many as having issues and if they attempt to harm others by humiliating them, that it would be obvious to the important ones what the truth is?

My narc sibling uses the TRUTH to embarrass me. "He started smoking only at 30." (subtext: he is that dumb). "He is one of those people who defy all rules of healthy living and still are healthy." Another time they made me subject to their narcissistic rage because I didn't want to join on a walk. I'm an introvert and love being alone at home. This is my preference I don't see why I should need to justify my preferences. My silbling always had pets to command and control. They aren't cruel to them. Still you can train, teach, berate and control a pet. I very much feel like I am supposed to be such a pet and that she treats others like pets too, lol.

Ultimately the narcissists will embarrass themselves and think those hearing think something is wrong with us. But reasonable rational people will see what jerks they are. Sadly, those people will avoid hm and in avoiding him you will miss out on their company too. God said that hate toward someone is the same as murder, and public humiliation is hate.

I'm with a scumbag narcissist & he just did this in front of my good friend. Telling her personal information to embarrass me. This is this most mortifying thing someone can do. He keeps pushing my buttons because there's a full restraining order on him and every single day, he tests the limits of how far he can stress me out until I call police and have him removed. If I say that, he says they'll take my kids from me and that's how he keeps control
