I really hope the Khan is the next Primarch to come back to the Imperium. He's probably my favorite Primarch, though im not as big of a fan of the White Scars as a whole. Out of all the Primarchs except maybe Guilliman, he actually seems like the most "level headed" out of all his brothers

Among the Primarchs, the Khan is described as (possibly) the fastest. He combines absolutely blinding speed with a razor-sharp intellect, immense strength, masterful swordsmanship and controlled savagery on par with Leman Russ. Another long overlooked factor about him is that he, unlike his brothers does not possess a fragile, teenaged egotistical personality. When the war broke out, he chose to observe both sides, actually listened to what they had to say and then made his choice. Furthermore, he believes he could best Fulgrim, Dorn, Konrad and Magnus. This, combined with is 2-0 record against Mortarion shows he's among the most formidable of the Primarchs.

Since we're at Warhawk, can we get Sigismund vs Kharn (as seen in Warhawk). Am hoping to hear how Sigismund was able to turn the Black Sword he wields into an icon for the loyalist but most of all. Am hoping to hear the utter horror of Kharn upon seeing how Sigismund (and by extension the Imperium) have completely embraces the nihilism after being thoroughly brutalized by the Horus Heresy.

I genuinely fucking hate this book. I’m an unapologetic death guard fanboy but even with my bias this fight is still BS. If I remember correctly, the khans lungs are destroyed and mortarion impales him. I understand jaghatai was fighting in mortarions style but there is a difference between fighting style and physiology. Mortarion is made to be durable and jaghatai is made to be fast neither is better than the other but jaghatai should have been at least a little cooked in this duel

I gotta admit Chris Wraight was really unforgiving in Warhawk (and I'm pretty sure he hates Mortarion) but I'm surprised that this would be the book you hate. I would've thought it would've been The Buried Dagger.

The Khan was cooked, dude was pretty a needle next to dead after banishing Mortarion and that triggered the semi-black rage in the White Scars. His half-death state also took off the playing field for the rest of the Siege of Terra too and we don't hear anything about him doing stuff until well into the Great Scouring.

@@HaloFTW55 I understood the Khan's strat. It fit with his character, my problem was how arrogant Wraight made Mortarion. Like the entire novel, we know that Mortarion knows that the Scars are going to attack the Lion's Gate space port and the entire time he's just like "meh".

@@lykos2738 Daemons are pretty consistently depicted as carelessly arrogant. At this point, Mortarion is no longer (trans)human-he's a daemon. Was it really a break in (his new) character?

Don't forget about the spanking Draigo gave him too if you find this embarrassing. I mean, the Khan being bullshit make an odd amount of sense to me. But if you add on the wound Morty suffered at the hands of Garro, his victory makes more sense.
