my personal headcanon, the Imperium's skull iconography that is used so much, is rooted in the Big E’s loss of his father. I know imagining it like that makes it alot more sentimental than grim dark but i really like it. The skull usage it the imperium and just warhammer in general has its own lore and artistic badassery reasons, but it's a really cool thought that makes the master of mankind a lot more human. Thanks DQVO for another amazing video, love your work !!

A very excellent piece. I like that Ra, a Tribune of the Legio Custodes was actually humbled by the origins of humanity. And the moments where the Emperor's true voice shone through the visage of the boy He may or may not have been long ago? Chills. Speaking of moments from Master of Mankind, do you plan on doing "The Sun Rises" at some point?
@pedropierre95943 күн бұрын
Imagine being a Custodes, who has never seen Earth at its best, then your Emperor shows you not only it, but himself at the beginning, how simple life was and compare that to demigods warring to give humanity to parasites in a different dimension, that must have been a gift beyond anything else

Symbolism the Valdor seems to be pondering, might apply to Ra as well - Ra was god of Sun and Order; kind of opposite to darkness and chaos. Anathema, if you will.... so "Sun rising" shoted by neverborn might also relate to Ra finally apotheosis into Drach'nyien jailor.

@@pedropierre9594 "Earth at it's best" **Spits on ground** Pathetic. SPOILER WARNING: This excerpt is really interesting because Dan Abnett pays homage to it when the Emperor slays Horus in The End and the Death Vol III (Volume 10, Chapter 17, The Stroke). "In the end, it's just a man killing his son with a stone". I think it's really interesting how Abnett draws a parallel to this moment where he slays his uncle. It continues that theme of fratricide and betrayal, of infighting of family, and of the notion that humanity may have all this supposed enlightenment and technology but at the end of the day still are human.

Which in this universe is the truth. Every race was created for war by the Old Ones and have simply been left to their own devices. Enlightenment can never truly come because it’s not their purpose. Their purpose is to literally fight and die against Chaos and the Necrons. Everything else is futile

Having listened to this a few times now... its just phenomenal. The portrayal of how the Emperor speaks, how Ra speaks - the Emperor's true voice echoing from the Boy's voice. Just phenomenal to listen to, like all of your W40K work. Much love!

People think Warhammer is a parody of fascism or a caricature of a fantasy setting that is grim-dark for the sake of being dark; a tale of overly zealous character and plotlines and stupendous bravardo, but its none of that, WARHAMMER 40K is a tragedy it's a story of a MAN of a GOD that saw too much did too much lost too much; it's a story of a being who is humanity' greatest achievement ambition and will power made flesh; craving the one thing that despite being the very anathema to the dark reality of the cosmos , he will never get, PEACE.

@@leandrocastello309 The shaman story is probably canon as well. In my mind: the souls coalesced into being(s) - the perpetual(s). All birthed by different tribes in pre-history. The shamanic sacrificial essence in the warp clotted and got separated a bit.
