So Important! The hope with this series is to shine a light on the people behind the wall we don't get to hear from as much and if we can add a few thousand people to that list, we are that much closer to showing the world Justin Tranter and so many others! Also, 24 billion streams on Spotify alone for Justin :) (but when I felt like adding it up one day, and it's probably grown since)

I think coming from a rock band and being a band member teaches one major collaborative skills and team work that are necessary for co-writing songs with others. Also the fact that he is an accomplished singer allows his songwriting to be expressed and be showcased to the artists that would end up singing the song. Singing your own songs allows you to be emotionally connected to the song and that really comes through in trying to communicate its essence. Great interview . . . and money isn't everything, but it helps. He looks after his parents!! Great man.

300 million streams = $6k 😞Daniel can you do a video follow up on the law that was past to increase the revenue artists make on streaming. Sad that all the other big streaming companies appealed the increase. Streaming for all songwriters is just a disaster from a salary perspective. Tech corporate companies are so greedy & take advantage of the sensitive nature that songwriters have. Its fascinating that most revenue is still generated on old school radio. Justin is so open & honest here & very generous with the information he's offering, great interview

Amazing! His life is a beautiful story, he left his family in Morocco to go to Sweden to pursue his dream, without any money, and years later after hard work, and sleeping on floors, he made few number one in Sweden, but it was just in Sweden, so his family and country wasn't really aware of his success, peoples didn't know his songs, so he decided to go to America to make it global, but he had to start from scratch again, so, RedOne and his amazing wife went to America (with the money of Sweden hits), but it was so hard for him to get the trust from labels, nobody wanted to give him a chance! But after many years of struggle in America, he was close to giving up cause he didn't had enough money to survive any more months, so RedOne's wife told him "let's try 3 more month and if it doesn't work we go back to Sweden..." Thanks to his wife, he finally did a hit in America! This hit opened some doors for him, and then he met a girl (Lady Gaga), after talking to her for 10 minutes, the feeling between both was amazing, they decided to go to a studio session, and they ended up making "Lady Gaga - boys boys boys" this day, and a week later they booked another few studio session, first day they did "Just dance", second day "Poker Face", third day "Love game", each day was a number one! And then, everything happened for him! I'm sure he could inspire so many peoples in your community, with his amazing life, he's really amazing, happy person, positive person, he will give motivation and believe to everyone ❤ He's really making my life much more positive, since 13 years now, (i am his biggest fan haha, one day i'll meet him 🙏🤞)

Great interview! Educational. I like the insight within the not as public world of music. Songwriter POV. I remember reading when TS & Big Machine had the performance conflict- re-recoding/performance issue. They said she owed label, but her PR followed up by saying an auditor was brought in & TS was owed $8mil in royalties. I wonder if anything was resolved. I read stream payments go to labels to distribute it among the parties. Labels also determine radio play/playlists & copyrights factor control. Probably why investment firms are buying up catalogs. TS two decade career (split between country & pop) is a fascinating case study. I was watching a video where Brandman & RB talk about the Music Business vs Music Industry- touched on radio, community & artist cost (15% cut) kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHiwlHWhZbJ1q9k
