This is the first time I'm seeing Savan Kotecha. Like, his face. But I've learnt who he is yearsssss ago. 10 or more years ago. Songwriters are so low-key, it's rare to find their pictures or other stuff on the internet. So, I'm just now putting a face and a voice to the name. Buuuut... I'm obsessed with checking songwriting credits and I almost immediately knew it was HIM. That man is incredible and he really made my teenage years and learning English such a delight ❤

I absolutely loved this episode. I really enjoyed hearing about Savan’s creative process and how it changed over the years (and after being a Dad). I am Moroccan-American, so I really identified with a lot of the struggles he discussed in this episode (such as coming from a strict home) & I love when he mentioned not wanting to be the only Indian in the room! I may not be Indian, but I love that he is making space for more Brown folks in creative spaces such as music!!! and UGH the story at the end??? …beautiful. Music DOES matter. My Father actually learned English by listening to music in the 70s and 80s before deciding to move to America in the 90s! It’s amazing how music can connect people from across the globe :) Thank you as always Daniel!!!!

I actually really enjoyed him talking about tying his self worth to success. Not to be rude but I find it funny how the question after that discussion was asking about a hit song. I feel like hit songs aren’t necessarily “the point” I would love if you asked him more questions about how it felt to with with artists, if he ever considered a different career path, if there were any songs he wrote for himself, what time a day he normally writes, etc. just a thought 🙏 Love the pod but more focus on the person and less focus on their work would be really nice ❤

Came across this interview today as we are waiting for the new year. With everything going on it feels destined to. I was born in 1993. I remember around 2010-2011 I was complaining to my mom how there were no breakthrough stars of my generation. At the time we already had Demi, Miley, Selena, Justin, Jonas Brothers already established who were born mostly in '92 and '94. And all of a sudden some people appeared and changed the industry and my life forever and made me proud. One Direction and Ariana Grande. Now I find out that there was one man who helped both entities lift and push their careers into stardom. Thank you Savan! This interview is so insightful and filled with nostalgia... Thank you for dedicating it to Liam in such a loving way. His kindness, talent, his legacy must not be forgotten ever

Daniel, I can’t thank you enough for this series. I’ve always been fascinated about song production and especially the music from the early 2000s, the 90s and 2010 these are some of my favorite pop songs and I always knew that there was a group of people who were creating them, but for you to be able to explore deeper into how the production happened and how everybody came together is just so fascinating to me. I feel like Musick has gone downhill a lot these days and it just doesn’t have the same heart and incentives behind it. It’s great to look back on a time when I felt like pop music was at its best, and it’s so cool to see how it was all made. Thank you for doing this and thank youto everyone who has come on the show it’s such a cool deep dive into if you follow your dreams and work really hard. You really can achieve anything.
