ALWAYS remember your breathing. We’re all guilty of holding our breath to get that perfectly straight line, but when you do, your body goes through atrophy. Your muscles jerk uncontrollably due to lack of oxygen. So.. BREATHE. Eat. Cut down on caffeine and get enough sleep. You’ll see a world of difference.

Hey Daniel :) I have a question regarding tattooing larger people. Do you have any advice for pulling lines smoothly on skin that you need three points of contact to properly stretch? I've noticed that for me at least, if my tattooing hand is lubed up enough to glide over the skin, there's not enough bite to stretch the skin, and if there's enough bite to stretch the skin, there's not enough glide to smoothly pull longer lines.
@Pearlmenagerie
@Pearlmenagerie 11 ай бұрын
Have someone else (or the client) help you stretch the skin if they are able. Just last night I had a client just sort of pull the skin of her forearm from the top for me. I didn’t make a big deal of it just said “hey can you help me out? Can you just put your hand here and pull upward for me?Hold it just like this for about 30 seconds (or however long)You’re doing great.” Nothing else needs to be said and calls less attention to them than involving a third person. Not always possible though for the unreachable areas.

That’s a great question! When I am tattooing with a larger configuration I used to tend to higher up my voltage but now I run at around 6-7 volts for almost all of the tattoos that I do. I have tried lining at 8 with bigger needles, at 7 with larger needles, etc and for me the 7 volt range is healthy depending on my setup for larger needle groupings. I would much rather adjust my hand speed over changing the voltage. The lower the voltage in theory I will get a bit more time on the skin before I have to move on.

@DanielYuck Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback and support! I appreciate you. When we don’t have good ink flow the needle will still be doing it’s job however there will be no ink deposit. Therefore when we are tattooing the line for example when our ink flow is not flowing our line will come out inconsistent because nothing was being deposited. So we’d be braking the skin open and nothing more. 1 of the many reasons ink flow is essential.

Would you say that practicing depth and hand speed with a 1RL is better considering it seems to be the most difficult to use?
@LUXINK
@LUXINK 2 жыл бұрын
I'd say, practice with every needle. Every movement should be intentional. When you're working with a smaller needle, make sure you cover all your bases (no caffeine, etc), to avoid shaky lines. You can go back and run a 1RL next to your current line (assuming fake skin) and see the improvement.
@Lumpdadabubub

if you can pull one clean with a 1rl you can pull every size perfect so yeah you can choose a 1 rl
@DanielYuck
@DanielYuck Жыл бұрын
Me personally I wouldn’t practice with a 1rl. Reason being when I do use a 1rl I don’t really feel any resistance or anything like this as a 1rl is considerably smaller over most common needles. If I practiced with say a 11RL or a RS I can see, feel and hear what I am doing, these elements don’t necessarily work the same for a 1RL. The surface area of a 1rl is so tight that it will essentially just rip through anything if we aren’t familiar with depth or hand speed. I would encourage you to work and practice with a needle that is big enough for you to see the tip as you practice lining. Using a 1rl requires a different approach over lining with other configurations.

Hey everyone! I had a question but idk if I would sound stupid... Can I use a used cartridge on fake skin to practice my designs? Is there a way to clean them so ink does not stick on them? I'm just starting the journey. From what I'm seeing, the CNC Police 9RS is strong getting that ink in really good. Nice video for sure!

New needle needed. Never re use a needle that has been used on a person. Used ones need to go into a sharps container.

They were asking regarding practice sheets, i find i can use my cartridges MULTIPLE times , i only change mine out every month or so, or probably 10 or 20 hours worth of use, but i lube the silicone heavy. And clean them repeatedly before packing them back in the blister pack.@@raylene326 Always save the package for storage/easier identification and safety. NEVER reuse on actual skin*******

When it comes to lining I typically will line at around 7-8 volts depending on machine.

Another reason that can cause shaky lines is not stretching the skin enough

Great video but needle hanging out too far shouldn’t be one that list in the beginning. PSA DONT RIDE THE TUBE! Understand you canvas of skin and you win 🥇 once you really get into the details you will find that there is a lot but it’s worth knowing

Yea but like.... How do you stretch the skin while doing any of these two hand techniques?

I will cover more on stretching of skin in depth in another video. In a nutshell I don’t typically like to stretch the skin out exact. I prefer to hold the skin down to keep it from moving. I find that this results in less irritation of the skin while still being able to input ink correctly.
