My favorite thing about giving myself my first tattoo was to figure out what skin felt like first hand. I genuinely wasn’t even In pain I was more so anxious that I wasnt getting deep enough (which I didn’t, it’s super light like a faded pen, I could’ve went deeper) my ones following that one though have been looking better :)

Thanks for making these videos, I know the time it takes, especially editing, etc. I started a few months ago with the reelskin, I noticed on the site it said both sides could be used, but when I turned it over there was always bleed through. The more I practiced, the more I could use both sides. Then when I started on myself it seemed like the right depth. I also use things like rolled up cardboard & made a shaky stand to mount skins. It kinda gets me use to moving parts. Stretching is my biggest issue, especially with my messed up arm. Thanks again, hope all is well, take it easy.

Thanks for the video! You mentioned that the needle must be completely pulled inside the catrigde when the machine is off. My needles are always hanging out a little (~2mm) when off. Is this a problem with the machine or the cartridge? Do you know how to fix it? I'm using a mast fold pro pen style machine with adjustable stroke. Even when I adjust to the lowest stroke, the needle hangs out when machine is off. Please help!

So I didn’t realize, but as a beginner I tend to run slow. And everyone on YT is running at like 9-10 volts so that’s what I set my machine to, but I didn’t know how fast to move. Recently I swapped to a lower voltage around 8-8.5 and I found that I still get clean lines and they don’t look as traumatized as when I was on a higher voltage. Also with that in mind I dropped my shader voltage to 7.5 and my god I love it. Definitely if you’re starting out start low and work up. You don’t realize how fast that needle is at first lol

Brandon what power supply you use. I know every power supply has different output voltage. I got the MusoToku and was wondering what voltage you would recommend for lining, shading ,color packing. I'm using rotary and pen style machines. All with adjustable stroke lengths 3 to 4. This video helped me out alot my biggest issues are comfortable hand placement, incorrect voltage. I'm going to try the hand placement that you shown in the video and if you have any suggestions on voltage with my type of power supply that'll help out alot. Thx again for the videos and tips.

hello mike that's a great question. For lining I run my critical power supply around 10 for the normal liners that I use for a smaller needle like a 5 or a 3rl will turn it down to 8. how for shading I like to stick to about a 8-9 for smooth shading and having a smaller stroke will help as well. and last when I am working on a color tattoo for the style that I tattoo I run my machine at a 10, the same as I do for my lining.

@@Tattooing101 I was gonna say I've seen the traditional stuff you do on here and it's da** good man.i started at a local shop in Midwest indiana and all I did was clean the shop and trace his stencils.so once I noticed he wasn't teaching me anything I happened to move and get into a great shop a couple years later and started learning alot and I mean ALOT!but then the pandemic hit :( so after about a solid 6 or 7 months of every day tattooing pig skin,fruit,reel skin,and a couple friends I ended up having to get a job to pay my bills.so I ended up working for Amazon while this pandemic is going on and just tattoo in my free time until this is over and I can actually go back tattooing full time at a shop or the same shop possibly.but watching your videos has really got me back in the groove of tattooing every weekend and when I'm not tattooing friends and family I draw and or paint "graffiti" still in my 30s.so just wanted to let ya know your traditional style is absolutely great from what I've seen and that and black and gray is what my main focus is on now.ive been doing alot of newschool stuff lately but wanna get back to the traditional and graywash.so just wanted to say thanks and keep these tips,tricks,hints,and review on budget machine videos comen man cause your channel is growing more and more each and every day!

@YoDnAdDiVaD
@YoDnAdDiVaD 2 жыл бұрын
It’s a Tattoo machine not gun. May seem like a small thing but it will say a lot around professionals. Also single needles should rarely if ever be used. Chances of damaging the skin is much higher. A 3rlbp is about the smallest you should go and the size depends on design and style. And I’m sure you’ve heard this before but doing an apprenticeship is the best way to learn and grow your skill. Not that there are not some amazing self taught artists in the industry but even a majority of self taught artists would agree an apprenticeship is the best route to go. That also depends on how much you actually respect the industry and history of tattooing.
