Going out of state from PA to upstate NY to see my aunt. The State of PA will require me to quarantine when I get home- fine. But they act like going somewhere that has had less cases since March than we have in a day is evil and wrong, but seeing my sister a county over in our own state, who lives in a hot spot, is a teacher, and has a toddler and a preschooler in daycare who live in two houses is totally fine, no restrictions. What. This is the issue. They're trying to regulate things in a blanket way that just can't be.

It is NOT natural to cover your mouth for most of us. But of course-to admit this was to be shamed for "ant-mask" so the very helpful instructions were extremely limited in getting message out. It's like learning to put contacts in-it is NOT natural to deliberately stick stuff in your eye!

I'm an MD and I read the Danish study with a PhD to help me with the statistical analysis of the results. We are uncertain as what the conclusion was. The statistical values for significance between the two numbers was barely valid. However, what I was struck by, from what we can tell, is the infection rates for mask wearers and controls were very low for both. Meaning there were actually very few infections happening in the community. Our conclusions are that, in all probability, if you have an infection and are out and about (which you shouldn't be) wearing a mask will help you not give it to someone else, but if you do not have an infection your chance of catching one in the Danish environment is very low. Individual results may vary.

regarding the Danish mask study....participants in study wore masks for "8" hours. Since I didn't see link for study, I was wondering what type of mask? N95, Level 2, level 3?? I work as a dental hygienist. We learned we need to change our mask hourly as moisture and aerosol can negatively affect the effectiveness of the filtration. So of someone wore the same mask for 8 hours it wouldn't surprise me that there was little difference between the 2 groups. Also, how many times in a 8 hour period, did they touch the outside of that mask that may have had aerolsols on it that were then transferred to their hands and then eventually back to their unprotected selves later? Food for thought!

"I think we're going to have more cases in December, then, you know, we’ve ever seen. We already have cases going through the roof. I just wanted to take the time to express my gratitude for your talk, but especially they way you guys are talking to each other. It is very refreshing to see good solid, knowledge based opinions, but at the same time enough openness to still being able to look at contradicting statements and opinions. I know it's next to impossible to answer all questions you get, so I understand if you can't address this one. But a question that has been bugging me when it comes to vaccination: you mention that after 4 months of getting (and surviving) the virus, people show antibodies, on the other hand, although it is true that younger people might also be very sick, their risk of getting sick seems to be multiple times smaller compared to the efficacy number of the vaccines. And although I recognize that even for young people, who seem to have (on a large scale, not isolated cases) nearly no risk at all of getting something worse than 2 weeks of discomfort, this risk is further reduced by a vaccination... but does that small reduction weighs up against the cost of vaccinating that person, especially in a scenario where there can be long term, still unidentified risks to any of these vaccines? I respect other peoples opinions and I'm not out to convince people, but to ask my question, I need to state that in my mind this adds up to the conclusion that it seems cost effective to strive to primarily/only vaccinate the high risk people, the known vulnerable groups, etc. but the reason I'm questioning my own conclusion is that around the world, there seems to be this giant push or striving for 'we need to get to 70% vaccination'... I'm guessing there should be some wisdom in that statement as well, but I don't really get why they put so much effort on that. For one, if people develop antibodies by themselves, you may reach a '70% immunity' just by vaccinating 40% of a population if we expect about 30% of the population to have been infected by the first quarter of 2021, no? Shouldn't be "immunity" our driver in stead of "% of vaccinations handed out"? So the question is: why would a healthy person, who survived covid, who didn't even get too sick of it, ever want to consider a vaccination? Especially considering that the vaccine should be able to protect vulnerable groups anyway, so spread is not really a real issue anymore? The reason I'm asking is because I seem to be missing something, why else are specialists around the world pushing that 70% number? I'd be very grateful if anyone could share an insight on that. I do appreciate it being evidence based, though, I'm not too fond of guesses or opinions.

Didnt read through comments to see if this is pointed out- but it’s important to recognize that “wearing masks” isn’t going to protect the person wearing by some significant percentage if the type of mask they’re wearing isn’t designed to protect the person wearing the mask (ie: surgical mask). Are the vaccine trials really going that well or is this the optical race to market share? How do regular consumers or even critical thinkers sort or evaluate this information?
@terjeoseberg9904 жыл бұрын
Well, if you actually understand how they are doing these trials, and you look at and understand the results, you know exactly what to believe.

Which proves beyond a doubt no government ever cared about your health or saving lives. How can u claim it's save when so many vaccins in the past caused many problems, even tho they were tested properly? There is no vacccine against flue & there never will be. It mutates too fast. Virusses are there to prevent a species or plant to populate the whole world & we humans happen to be the virus to all life. I for one do love the socially distancing guidelines and staying at home, only leaving for necessity, wearing masks, washing hands - even more than that 🛁 every.single.day, keeping your home clean, clean laundry, clean bedroom, vitamins, and anything else to prevent acquiring this disease. My parents-in-law in July told the family at an outdoor gathering, "Don't be scared of a virus, you have to live your life." They only wore masks when required by store signs, etc... otherwise they were maskless. On Nov. 2nd my father in law was hospitalized due to Covid-19, ICU admission Nov. 5th, ventilator Nov. 10th-19th, now he is out of the ICU, lung function is a struggle, still needing oxygen, feeding tube required, may have massive damage to heart and lungs. This is just horrible, but my hubby had stated in July, "We will not be going to anymore family gatherings after that and if anyone gets this it will be my parents, they don't understand Science." Once we are able to talk to his dad it will be interesting to hear his perspective now after having a very serious case of the virus... that is if he doesn't take a turn for the worse again. 😢 So sad that I've heard stories of people who were even in the ICU for Covid-19 still think that they didn't have the virus 😳🙄 Dangerous narrative and mindset. Thanks for the Science doctors, we need it.

Great show. Regarding selection of subjects, I volunteered for the Pfizer study in the summer when Phase 3 was starting to get off the ground (in MA). I was rejected because I have the luxury of working from home at this time and wasn't considered high enough risk in terms of transmission. Also, the way the data is read out (these first analyses are triggered by seeing a certain threshold of infections in subjects) they really did want to see people involved who would be at high risk of infection because it helps get that data out faster.

And if the study didn't find asymptomatic "infections" important my question is why are we concerned RIGHT NOW then with asymptomatic??????? And if the mRNA DOES NOT stop asymptomatic and that is STILL considered an important vector then WTF is it good for and how will this allow us to STOP with the damn mask and (stupid) social distance nonsense??

I'm listening to this and just wondering how fellow docs can still be having this inane discussion when: 1. The virus has an IFR that is comparable to a bad seasonal flu.....no masking in the past for that or lockdowns or quarantining of healthy people. 2. All throughout the summer, the actual meaningful data, hospitalizations/ICU and deaths were statistically no different than previous years all through Europe. In other words, with minor exceptions of rural delayed spread, the pandemic was over. See data on Euromomo, PANDAS etc. All the data also shows that neither lockdowns or mask mandates had any meaningful effect on viral transmission and more importantly, deaths from Covid19. Remember that it was the INSANE and ridiculous modeling from Ferguson at Imperial College that was used to shape the response to this pandemic even after his outlandish and wildly inaccurate predictions in the past.......hmmmm. 3. The test being used (PCR) is manipulative and deceitful since it is NOT SPECIFIC for diagnosis for Sars Cov2, but rather a research based tool for amplifying genetic material; 20 cycles or less and reasonably accurate for diagnosis (maybe) for active infection but run it at 30 to 40+ cycles and you have nothing more than rampant false positives being used to manipulate the population into a frenzy of needless fear. 4. The pandemic has not "revealed the inadequacies of science", it has unmasked the fraudulent manipulation of science to be used as a tool for global dominance by forces that have already stated their objective openly.....YOU WILL OWN NOTHING AND BE HAPPY! ANY FURTHER DENIAL OF THIS OBJECTIVE SHOWS ONLY YOUR WILLING COMPLIANCE OF THIS AGENDA! Are you a crazy "coincidence theorist"? You cannot run from a pandemic virus that will now be endemic....PERIOD. 5. How much mainstream media BLACKOUT of ACTUAL MEANINGFUL DATA will continue to be ok? How much silicon valley CENSORING of real data will we continue to permit? How long we will we continue to tolerate the exponentially dwindling loss of inalienable rights? A year....two.....a lifetime? Just trying to flatten the curve. 🤣

Why did the study plan for a 50% reduction? Bcos the researchers didn't have the money to study a large sample size.A 20% reduction would need a sample size of 30K!! So the easiest way is to exaggerate the protective effect. This is how pretty much how majority of the studies are done. So the study was doomed to start with!

How well do masks protect others when you adjust them from the front with your hands? How well do masks protect others when you remove your mask to talk into a microphone? Using the pictures and videos of a person that advocates masks. How well do masks actually work when worn and used by people that use them like Biden? He has continually done all the items above.
