I feel like I'm in a therapy session when I listen to your videos like this. You don't realize how much you've helped me and my relationship to dieting and food. I'm committed to a healthy, whole food life style now, and I'm being much more forgiving, and gentle, and consistent due to your motivation. I actually feel like I can finally be successful! Thank you so much!

I love this. I gave up dieting last summer, and my whole outlook has improved. I gained a few pounds, and I don't feel compelled to lose it. I'm finally ready to exercise again, but not to achieve anything other than strength and mobility. Huge weight off my shoulders!

Dani I found your channel just a few weeks ago. Over the last few years I watched many many videos about healthy food choices and recipes, but your channel has something more! There is creativity, fun, intelligence and sensitivity. It's a pleasure to watch, even for someone who has already a pretty stable and settled diet. Keep it up ^^

So glad I found you. I have been struggling with my relationship with food all my life. I eat lots of whole food, but have been binging on processed carbs a lot. I am ready to let go of obsessing and beating myself up when I "mess up." Your advice and explanations made so much sense. I can see how my choices are driving my behavior. I will continue to listen and move toward peaceful and gentle nutrition. Thank you.❤

Thank you so much I have been beating myself up because I’m struggling with eating healthy and it’s not that I’m forcing myself to my body does not do well with processed foods or meats it does not respond well so I’m paying attention to it but I’m feeling overwhelmed lost with how to make good food look good taste good and Phil me and you just gave me the key to it all commit to one part at a time that is key for me

After my surgery in February I made a commitment to myself to start eating healthy breakfast options. It has been 7 weeks and now this is a no brainer. I am going to try and include a salad everyday for a meal. Thank you for all this information it is greatly appreciated.

Love the positive approach to nourishing ourselves. As crazy as it sounds, I was feeling "guilt" over drinking calories, as I currently have COVID so am drinking juice with Sprite since it just feels good in my sore throat. It's not something I normally do but at this point, it's a good choice to hydrate! Love the sane, non punishing way you speak of healthy eating.

Something that just clicked with me: no matter how much time it takes to build a habit, it’s isn’t too long. There’s no specific amount of time you need to reach. Some habits I built quicker than others. It all depends on who you are. It took over the course of a couple months to make sure I’m drinking 3 liters or more of water a day and have it be just routine. I finally realized habits take time. Ik it’s common sense but if it takes you a few months to consistently do something in order to build that habit as routine, there’s nothing wrong with that. One habit at a time. If getting to your goal body takes multiple years in order to have it your whole life, compared to your whole life figuring out how to have your goal body and health, it’s worth taking your time. TLDR: focus on one habit at a time until it’s routine. Even if you have to wait years for your dream body and good health, you’ll be able to keep it for life since it’s ingrained. The process may take awhile, but sustainability is better than the rollercoaster

I just found your channel a few days ago. I’ve already learned so much from your videos. In the past, I was so hard on myself when I tried to change my eating habits, it became a negative approach. You are showing me how to turn my change into a positive fun approach. Thank you!

At around 15 minutes, your talk about mindful eating reminded me of when I decided to take a moment to be grateful for the meal before eating. I'd just close my eyes, take a deep breath, and offer thanks. It was like a reset for my brain - I could feel tension leaving my body, frustrations wafting away, and all thoughts but enjoying the food left my head. It really makes a difference. I started a weight loss/fitness/health journey a little over 2 years ago, and my #1 rule is, "make no changes that you can't live with." If I can't see myself doing it for the next 30 years, I'm not going to try and commit myself to it now. I don't forbid any food, I don't have a crazy intense exercise regimen, I am basically trying to reprogram my brain to help me live a healthier life.

As always I love your positive attitude! I've been eating more whole foods and walking regularly. I add a fruit tea bag to water to encourage myself to drink MORE water. My three favorite meals all begin with the letter S and I make them myself. Salads, Smoothies and Soups. It's an easy way to get those veggies/fruits in!

Your tips came at a perfect time. I lost 115 lbs. 11 years ago and I've kept off all but 10 which crept back during covid. For various reasons we can slip back into old habits and this video was the perfect jolt I needed to change unhealthy routines and get back to my healthy ones....and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Wishing you and your beautiful family a Happy Healthy and blessed New Year. 💗

Long time fan! My family does really well on cooking our own food from a weekly organic farm box , well-treated organic-feed meats, and so on. My big struggle is breakfast--I have some auto-immune issues and the mornings are hard, and I often just don't eat. So my one focus for this year is to get into the habit of meal-prepping things I like, so that I will eat in the morning. Thanks so so much for both your recipes and this kind of content--you're a part of our family without even knowing it! :-) Happy 2022!

I so welcome your advice in this video. While I incorporated so many things during the pandemic shutdown--being mindful to eating close to nature, cooking at home, avoiding processed foods and added sugars/sat fats, and, for me, finding whole grains to replace many carbs, the pressure of "how to make and keep new year's resolutions" at this time of year is uncomfortable and unwanted. So I appreciate most your #1--be easy, gentle, curious because your list above has done wonders toward how I feel, is sustainable, and now my habit. I have learned that so many of your oatmeal/banana plus xxx recipes serve well to quell craving sweets. So thank you for your ongoing advice and for verifying my general direction (b/c it was a lot of change for the good) and I look forward to another year of your good work. A very Happy New Year to you and your family!

I remember adding you when I first changed my lifestyle and you taught me so much! I felt amazing and looked better than ever. Then I had a spinal fusion in 2018 and it screwed up my digestive system so bad. Almost half of the fruits and veggies that my diet heavily consisted of cause me problems. I haven't been diagnosed but I think I have IBS which makes it so I poorly absorb FODMAPS. I gained almost 15 pounds and feel depressed. I want to create a new lifestyle that consists of whole foods that don't irritate my stomach. I'm having trouble doing it in a way that comes naturally instead of having to plan it out. I would love any tips!

Thank you for the tips! I usually don't like to eat in the morning as I have a little appetite when I wake up. BUT I listed some things that I like to eat such as pancakes, English breakfast, smoothie, omelet and I cook the healthy version of those and also try to add less processed sugar but use fruit's natural sugar (such as apple sauce, banana, peach)... Now I really enjoy my breakfast as it is healthy and delicious and I feel good knowing I am giving the right fuel to my body :)

This video was such an eyeopener! Would definitely remember this every time I'm about to eat something highly processed! If I may share my experience, like any other goal, the effects of eating healthy was more rewarding when nobody else knew about it. I just controlled myself to reduce intake and eventually abstain from certain foods and just watched the weight slowly melt away. Will definitely give this another shot this year! Thank you, Dani! 💖

I am so glad see that you are not vilifying carbs but teaching people how to make changes that work for them. One thing that I love doing is to teach my clients to not focus on weight loss, to focus instead on whole, high quality and delicious food, to focus on what they can add instead of what they need to avoid and in so many cases people experience weight loss without even trying.

I recognize what you say about your taste buds being more sensitive when you mostly eat Whole Foods. I often don’t really like store bought cakes, soups or ready made meals, because it tastes too sweet or salt. My kids are the same and usually don’t like birthday cake or restaurant pancakes, cause they are used to what I make. BUT I do allow them and myself to eat everything. I think food freedom is very important for a good and healthy relationship with food. So we also go out and have ‘normal’ pizza and icecream. But the basis of our diet are home cooked balanced meals. Also, we eat loads of bread, it’s tasty and easy to bring to school. But we do have it with (for instance) peanut and some veggies or fruit in the side. ❤

Hello Dani...I love watching your videos on Healthy eating .What's great especially is that no matter what eating plan you're on you can adapt the recipes to suit you. When you talk about listening to your body and knowing when to eat and when your satisfied...I am so out of touch with my cues.Rarely do I get hungry truly and I seem to never be satisfied until 15 or 20 minutes later when I'm miserable.I hope I can listen to my body more and be kind to it not torture it in this coming year 2022🎉✨🧘🏻♀️🌳

Thank you a ton for aaalll of your advice! personally I've been nurishing myself theoretically healthy and nutritionally, BUT the whole mindfulness thing and awereness were missing. Excited to see how this year will be in terms of eating, keeping in mind to ENJOY EVERY SINGLE MEAL!!! Also the year that passed I tried to be more gentle with eating "not so healthy" food and I have to say that what matters most are the habits that you've built over time. Having healthy habits (meaning you have them most of the time) allows you to eat and do things "not so healthy" without any cost to your health overall, on the contrary losing track and control sometimes can be healthier for your mental and physical health. So gentleness with food brings you balance undeniably. Thank you and have an unforgetable, happy and healthy year 🥳
