I have failed 100 times and yet I have never failed at all. Now, at the age of 40, I can see that every single step was the foundation of my personal development. I have learned from everything and my countless attempts, experiments and explorations have driven me through various stages of development. Thank you for providing this profound overview here. I am at peace now.

that's the heart of the philosophical discussion of Rationalism vs Empiricism. And that is where empiricism fails: besides it being great to debunk mysticism, it fails to recognize our innate intelligence, our inner power or knowledge a priori. We are not made to question everything, we are made to have a meaningful goal and strive towards it.

I find it interesting as a person growing up in the 70s of how human thought has evolved. That era had just a few select ideologies - money, fame and love were important. If you did not fit into the groove, you were ostracized. I encountered severe stress via some unfortunate events and my thinking began to think outside the norms because the norms did not work for me.. Fast forward to 2024 and now you see diverse and layered thought that has become normalized. Congratulations to Dan for presenting a logical and flowing explanation.

Of course it does and anybody says otherwise has no idea what are they talking about. A lot of financially successful guys i know are biggest morons and no real lofe achievements outside of money, sometimes i think they can't add two plus two, but for example one of them (ironically he is the one always preaching stupid stuff like positive thinking, and good approach will get you somewhere) inherited a business from his father. Business wasn't anything groundbreaking, but he made it extremely financially successful, you ask how ? Well he was selling something online that be bought from stationary sellers and then covid happened. So from small buissnes it suddenly became big buissnes. And he is so stupid that if u ask him why is he successful he would never tell you ooh because i was lucky my father created something small and then covid happened and i was rich. He would say a lot of stupid stuff oh you know hard work and i was smart and blah blah blah. And this is just one example.@@MrDjhealth

This is an excellent video with so many examples of how many people live their lives by default. This is largely due to most people lacking the ability to think critically. Critical thinking involves deep, profound and independent thinking that is not influenced by marketing, propaganda, religious rituals, political ideology, family, friends, mainstream media, mainstream thinking as well other societal accepted norms. Critical thinking involves TRUE independent and non biased thinking.

@@Time_space_Reality Being versatile and having a broad range of skills can be highly valuable, even if it means not achieving complete mastery in one area. In many contexts, being adaptable, multi-skilled, and capable of bridging different areas of expertise can be more useful than narrow specialization especially in life in general. Think of AI vs AGI and apply it to humans. Sure! Let’s take an example from the workplace, specifically in the tech industry: Imagine two employees at a software company-one is a generalist who has knowledge of software development, user experience (UX) design, project management, and marketing, while the other is a specialist who is an expert solely in backend software development. Generalist Advantage Example: When the company decides to launch a new product, the generalist’s diverse skill set allows them to bridge the gap between different departments. They can help shape the product from concept to launch by understanding user needs (UX design), coordinating with the development team, managing timelines, and even assisting with marketing strategies. Their broad view of the project helps align teams, anticipate potential issues across different areas, and maintain a customer-centered approach. Meanwhile, the specialist excels at building efficient, high-quality backend code. However, their expertise may be limited to that scope, meaning they rely on others to connect their work to the user interface, manage team communication, or market the product effectively. Benefits for the Generalist: • Adaptability: The generalist can shift roles and fill gaps in the team, making them more resilient to changes within the company or industry. • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: They can communicate effectively across departments, fostering innovation and ensuring everyone’s work aligns with the bigger picture. • Leadership Opportunities: Generalists often make strong leaders or project managers because they understand how all parts of a project fit together. In this example, the generalist’s broad perspective and ability to wear many hats help the company succeed in a complex, fast-paced environment, while the specialist’s expertise is critical but more focused. Both are valuable, but in dynamic settings where diverse skills and collaboration are key, the generalist may have an edge. -ChatGPT

About people unconsciously planning for failure. I feel like people most often don’t do that but rather are okay with failing because their goal was to simply learn something new. Sometimes “that they indeed are not made for this challenge”. In other words if the goal was to succeed depends on what the person wanted to get out of it

Unpopular opinion: quality social science education is just as vital as STEM education and helps one skip through a lot of these early, swiftly and quite naturally. Fluency develops at an early age for critical thinking and contextualizing different modes of thought, assumptions and operational matrices, while one develops a personal craft (usually perceived as something confusing, strange or unintelligible by more conventional others and specialized authority figures) of working within, outside and across different frameworks.

What he's sharing here gives clarity to issues with various "spiritual" teachings that end up being ineffective ideologies: ego bashing that becomes its own ego trip! Anyways, I loved this one. I'm not sure if I'm correct, but I think that what the whole point of the video is talking about is that intelligence is just more than problem solving and learning. I think that it also encompasses your perception of reality. It's about expanding your perspective of things to be able to better process information around you. I actually thought of improving my intelligence by improving the way I use my cognition (attention, learning, reasoning, perception and memory). I understand now that you're covering this because some people think it's just about reasoning, memory and problem solving. Thank you for expanding on the perception aspect. I have a more nuanced understanding of it now.

I think you're right, and I also think he is saying that intelligence includes being able to see things from outside of our physical selves, some would call it from spirit, or intuition maybe, or from the collective subconscious or through our connection with our higher self or with God maybe. When we see through this intelligence we care for all of life, not just our own

I think you can increase your intelligence to a small degree. If you think of people as having a range of potential intellect, you are still capped by genetics, but with room to improve or decline within that range. For example, going from an unhealthy lifestyle to getting quality sleep, exercise, diet, etc will directly affect your brain functionality, and allow you to unlock a higher potential intelligence. This is effectively *increasing your intelligence.

Here is some criticism. I feel like the approach that you are suggesting for intelligence is a bit self destructive if it requires an identity that cannot exist without productivity. It is cultivating a recipe for burnout and may pollute restful times with feelings of guilt about not being productive. I know this because I am a high performer and cybernetics really wont do much for you if you dont feel well. Tanking the discomfort only works up to a point, eventually your body itself is going to recoil, regardless of what you think. Your suggestions are good if and only if the person is consistently enjoying the process of doing whatever it is theyre doing, because goal based approaches are going to generate issues with self esteem when those goals are not achieved. Realistically, not everyone achieves all of their goals. Talk about smaller things if you want to play with this expectation-reward motivation style, instead of massive goals that humans have a tendency to fail at. You also forget several important aspects that govern the life of many individuals - deadlines, money and external life events that may make your approach unsustainable long term, and hinder the completion of goals, resulting in a downward spiral for the weaker-willed.

I have to say, while discussing stages of consciousness and ego development is interesting, it's fundamentally misguided to think that reaching the highest states can be achieved through thinking alone. Many of the so-called "enlightened" people didn't get there by analyzing or following a linear path; they connected with source through real experiences like meditation and presence. Relying on these intellectual models is actually a trap that keeps people stuck. The truth is, the mind can be a barrier to true consciousness. You can’t think your way to enlightenment-it's about transcending thought altogether. So let's stop pretending that understanding a hierarchy will lead to awakening. It’s time to recognize that genuine spiritual growth comes from deep, experiential practices, not just intellectual chatter.

You’re making an insightful point. When someone grows up in a culture where the term God carries deep personal and intimate resonance, it naturally becomes the most authentic way for them to refer to the ultimate being. Trying to replace it with a more abstract or neutral term can feel detached or impersonal. There’s real value in maintaining that connection, even as one’s philosophical or theological framework evolves. It’s not necessarily the name that needs changing but rather the surrounding philosophy that defines God, especially if it has become rigid or stagnant.

Philosophy is a human construct. Its like fancy mind entertainment. God in islam is unlike Christianity . God is great in islam actually means God is greater than to be even described. Very interesting presentation. You breezed through a number of comments that I think deserve a lot more scrutiny, but I will just weigh in on one statement around 45:30. "The truth is imminent in the universe, but can't be grasped by logic or rationality." Now, before I say anything more, I must preface by stating that I am in a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the top one percent of thinkers. With that said, I want to make a point that is deeply profound, yet surprisingly simple once you grasp it. We know that the left brain is responsible for logic and reason, while the right brain is attributed to creativity. The fact is that the two hemispheres of the brain are perpetually codependent. This is because all logic is a creative form of lesser logic. And all creativity is a play upon the rules and functions of logic. They are one in the same. Likewise, the truth that is imminent in the universe can and must be grasped by logic and rationality. That is to say, a higher order of reason. One must merely advance the mind to a position capable of comprehending the details of reality. It will all make sense when your mind has adjusted to this higher order of reasoning. The same way an ape will understand 1 − 0 = 0, when you take the banana from his hand, but yet cannot comprehend a mathematical table because it is far too complex. Such is the order of the universe to a lesser mind. All facts of existence make perfect sense to God as the creator of them. Thus, a mind closer to God's will be closer to understanding ultimate truth through a logical framework.

I went into a period where I rejected religion for the first time, at the age of 20 and started questioning reality. When I left religion and my beliefs about it, it felt like I have lost all my "powers" that I chained myself to. Throughout some months of reading about religions and thinking I came to the conclusion that the purpose of every religion is to help you become the best version of yourself, to unlock your full potential, be it prayers that increase faith, ultimately the trust in the future and your success or some higher being that holds your back. The common denominator is to help you function at full capacity. I struggled to find a way to replace religion in order to function at full capacity, as I became dependent on it for so many years. You just have to trust in yourself and build slowly.

Ken Wilbur is a fascinating guy but I don’t think he is concerned with goals and personal achievement in the way this video emphasizes. Also mention of Alan Watts!? Watts was the most vocal promoter of WU WEI, the art of not trying….Watts told us to let life be as it is, not to pursue rewards, and not to take it all so seriously…. He died a seemingly happy drunk in his late 60’s. Once again, don’t listen to other people as though they have something you don’t!! Think for yourself and devise your own paradigms.

If it is currently still true then it can withstand the questions. If it can't withstand the questions then it isn't true. Critical to always monitor yourself as much as possible for confirmation bias. It can poison any journey of progression

idk if you will read this, it felt extremely uncanny watching this. I have experienced and operated on all of the stages you mentioned. Yet, I don't have any command on staying in any one of them. It's like I have the apparatus to change my focus, yet I don't have the control over the amount of focus being used at any given time. I have reached the place where I consider whether it is necessary for me to intervene or if I am just going to hamper someone's developmental process as a human being. I am aware of the actions that will help someone in the short term and the ones that are imperative for them to reach a level of ability where help wouldn't be a requirement anymore. But, it's like sand, the more you try to grasp it, the less you have in your hand.

They say intelligent people are usually more depressed but that's only because they aren't as smart as they think and cant form connections with those they deem stupider or inferior. A truly intelligent person will figure out a way to be happy in any situation and funds a solution to get the best out of any situation. Second, having greater capacity, means that simple problems are not interesting, so people search for problems that are at the edge of being doable by them, so that the actions would seem meaningful, but that at the same time does not bring contentment, when you have not solved the problem yet.
