God, the Canadian crowds are good! They always laugh at the right times, never shy with the applause, not too loud and they wrap it up quickly so he can continue with the set. Sweet people!

A Scotsman is a man born and raised in Scotland who loves and embraces his country. A family members ethnicity will never change that. He may have roots elsewhere but Danny is a Scotsman, that's all he has and will ever claim to be. Just accept it.

Nobody really knows the true answer, but legend says that sleeping Scottish were awakened from an ambush by Viking Norse raiders when one of the attackers trod on a thistle with his bare feet. His cries roused the Scots who duly defeated the invaders, and the thistle was adopted as the symbol of Scotland. There is another story that the Cameronians threw thistles over the walls of a castle to end the siege.

That Thistle has my respect. It's been going wild on American farms for decades. It's tenacious. If you dont chop its roots off when it sprouts it will grow over six feet tall and sread thousands of seeds and take over the property and pasture or crop. It's thorny and mean. Most things won't eat it. At times, even goats. It's got its uses. It's also a painful prickly pain.

Legend has it that a sleeping party of Scots warriors were saved from ambush by an invading Norse army when one of the attackers trod on a thistle with his bare feet. His cries raised the alarm, the roused Scots duly defeated the invaders, and the thistle was adopted as the symbol of Scotland. Unfortunately, there is no historical evidence for this, but Scots, like other nations, love a good story. Curiosity always gets the best of me ... I had to. :)) BTW, I love Danny!
