I did the glitch to get the permanent master sword and played through the whole game. It was great, better than the base tears of the kingdom experience.

@@cucaspeedrunner451 Thanks! This actually isn't any% though. This is Defeat Ganon. The Any% route wrong warps directly to the credits from within kokiri forest in under 4 minutes!

I open the video and the first statement is exactly what I've felt, just that for me it's not only the story but multiple things in those games, where botw was designed a certain way totk just tried to expand on everything without having that cohesion

The entire argument of why durability matters comes down to what happens if it isn’t a mechanic. If you look at what happens when people get the unbreakable MsgNotFound, it completely breaks the flow and progression of the game. I don’t mind durability as a mechanic and always found it fun to use more weapons than just one or two because I had to.

Agreed! My gf will just use the Master Sword and when it "breaks" she'll wait for it to recharge. Idk how she does it. I like using the wide variety of weapons and durability ensures I have a steady rotation of new ones. In fact in TotK I would regularly do what I called "Lynel runs" to the floating coliseum in the Depths to use up a lot of my weapons when it felt like I was getting too many good ones faster than I was wearing them out

The memories in ToTK would have worked better if you saw them in a linear order, no matter which order you collected the tears. It would work much more as a proper story that way

@@Robomandude this tiny fix would have solved so much. There really was no reason to forcibly tie specific memories to specific locations. I really wonder why they didn't think of this or decided against it!

Still remember grinding the previous route a bit to try and maybe get on the board. I gave up when ganon floor dropped, there were a couple of things that were quite a bit harder, iirc i think bottom of the well was the harder section to do.

You should give it another shot! Overall the new route has a more approachable minimum skill level than the Ganondoor route from before. Unless you go all the way back to 2014 for the kakariko bottle Ganondoor route. That one is still a common entry point into OoT, and people still submit for it. Definitely recommend not giving up on either one!

Tears of the Kingdom is great imo and I really enjoyed the story, but you are ENTIRELY correct about the rock tunnels. Fuck the rock tunnels. I hate the rock tunnels with a passion. That one cave under the Great Plateau where the entire puzzle was "get through a wall of blue rocks"? Awful. Awful. Truly awful. I love that game so much though.

@@ericvilas I also really enjoyed the story! My main complaint is in the presentation of that story, I think it wasnt nearly as well suited to the memory format as botws story was, and they just got lost trying to tell a linear story with plot twists in a game that had no means of imposing linearity on the player. But yeah. Fuck rock tunnels lmao
