I really struggle with having people over unannounced, no matter how much I like them, due to my autism and anxiety. If my girlfriend went to my house without telling me (and a year is enough to know each others boundaries) I'd probably be mad she violated my boundaries. If she texted me beforehand like "hey, I'll come over to use your gym if that's chill with you?" I'd be perfectly fine with it. Everyone has different boundaries, I know way too many people that don't take "I don't want to be surprised by your presence" seriously - I know they think it'll be a fun surprise, but it'll throw off my routine and I won't be having a good time. Respecting boundaries shouldn't be that hard.

I honestly don’t think the gym guy was an asshole to her in any way. I barley like touching people, and I don’t like touching things after someone else already has. It doesn’t matter if the person is my family or my friend. If he wants to have some sort of sanctuary just for himself free from any outside interference, that should be respected. I agree when Danny said that, in a relationship that long, the girl should already have a good idea on what his boundaries are for the most part. Things like this should be respected especially since this is his very own house and not hers.
