Spec Miata WAR at the 2023 SCCA Runoffs at VIR.

The Spec Miata race at the 2023 SCCA Runoffs at VIR was my 500th race, and I was hoping that it might yield my 200th victory, but I knew that was a big ask. With the help of my team mate, Chuck Mactutus, I qualified on pole for the 52-car field, and was one of the fastest guys throughout testing and qualifying. Unfortunately, while we did contend for the win, both of us were knocked off the track by others, and had to fight back to move up. I was fortunate in the end, to contend for the podium, but finished 4th behind Preston Pardus, Nick Bruni and Brian Henderson
I cannot thank Mike Rossini enough. His engines are fantastic. I have qualified on pole 18 times out of 33 races this year, and we won the Spec Miata Hoosier Super Tour Championship. Thanks Mike I couldn’t have done it without you.

On the motor racing front I compete in SCCA and NASA events around the USA. I race both Spec Miata (SM) and Super Touring Lite (STL) cars. My cars are prepared by OPM Autosports in Atlanta, my SM is powered by Rossini Racing Engines, my STL is powered by Nelson Racing Engines, and both cars are stopped courtesy G-Loc Brake Pads, with contingency support from Hoosier Racing Tire, Toyo Tires and Mazda Motorsports.
On the motorcycle front, I race Hare Scrambles and Dessert Off-Road Races, and do a bunch of long, multi-day trips on adventure bikes around the world.

Danny that was great racing-you always put on a show- and a lesson too ! Drive hard-don't quit- and respect the competion around you. It must be difficult when others get caught up in the thrill and are racing tight but lose sight of the respect side of the sport. But as usual you show great restraint. A huge congrats on your 500th race !!! Maybe 501st will be victory 200 !

I always race others the way that I want to be raced, and I always want to leave a place that I have visited in a better condition than I found it, and that takes respect and dignity. And that you saw that in my racing means the world to me. Unfortunately my 501st race was the STL National Champs the following day and I finished 2nd, so my 200th victory is proving elusive!

I'm confused by the yellow. By the looks of it, the leader and you both slowed for a yellow. We see a standing yellow to driver's left but two cars blow by you down Madison Ave and no PUY is noted in the results. I didn't see an incident either.

thank you for noticing Christian. Fortuantely there is NO QUIT in me at all, and I will fight till I have nothing left. But my preferred style of figthing is WITH respect. But it is clear that three are others that do not subscribe to the same philosophy.
