I definitely enjoyed his fighting style. His fighting style was probably the most "street-worthy" out of all the characters--sloppy, unrefined and unpredictable. His side thrust kick to clinch to knee is probably my favorite move of his.

@@senorbongo4975 I absolutely agree. I think he had some big shoes to fill as he's compensating for the absence of Tanimura. And Tanimura had a clean Judo/Grappling style. I suppose that's what turns many people off to Shinada. But like you said, I *love* how dirty his style is. It makes it much more brutal. I'd definitely like to see him return to the main style of Yakuza games where his style is fleshed out alot more. But I wouldn't mind seeing him as a party member in the new JRPG style. I could definitely imagine his Job could be like Weapon's Master, Brawler or even Baseball player. If I'm being honest, he really does resemble Ichiban in many ways. I could see these two getting along.

Did you do this on Hard difficulty? I did mine on Normal. At Normal difficulty, Akiyama & Saejima were all fine & dandy, especially Saejima, whose boss was the easiest. However, I have to use a few Toughness Infinitys & Tauriner Maximums for Shinada & Kiryu. The worst part is that I gave all of them very strong armor, at least 17 points of armor or so. Plus, Kiryu had 20 points of armor. On top of that, I maxed everyone out before the fight.

Legend mode was the worst mistake I made, you mess up even once or get caught in a combo, that’s half your health gone in a flash and when I did it with shinada, it was all about pipe spam until he died

I kinda love the contrast of Shinada's combat. Unarmed he's rough, unrefined, powerful without much actual technique. But put a weapon in his hand and he basically becomes a swashbuckling hero. It's an interesting premise for a character in this series, and I think it worked really well.

The Dragon Fall is pretty good, given that you practice the timing well. From what I have experienced (take it with a grain of salt), the Dragon Fall’s timing seems to be less forgiving than Kiryu’s Tiger Drop, and it doesn’t do as much damage from what I’m seeing. However, given that it has an additional stun ability & that Saejima would already have the Herculean Spirit unlocked before the Dragon Fall, it is at least on par.

This version of shinada is much more hasty and " cleaner" compared with my ps3 version, on ps3 I literally bombarded him with s + t + c because if you keep on combo him, he doesn't get a chance to change weapon. The battle is kazuya is one my favorite in terms of perfectionism, I don't know what to add honestly. Saejima got the double version because I have too much fun making counters against jiro. Against jo amon it's the tiger drop festival, but you have to play smart. In my ps3 version I played extremely safe with tiger drop, on ps4 I didn't spare myself, only at the end of the battle I didn't want to risk too much repeating this 20:31, dragon essence is definitely the final touch.

However, they happened long after the release of 5 where he was already gone from the story, so even if he wasn't accused of anything, he wouldn't have had a part in the rest of the series, save very minor interactions or sub-plots. His main stake in Yakuza 4 was solving his foster father's death, and that's exactly what he did. He doesn't have anything else going for him. Same thing applies to Shinada. He was a tool used to find out who was behind everything, which also conveniently tied into finding the truth about his scandal, which again was solved. He could've maybe appeared in 6 for the baseball sub-plot, but alas.

Cause most bosses just have one health bar so I get why it doesn’t do much damage. But at the same time, it doesn’t do enough damage to warrant using it. I- Oh crap…I’ve got a problem. I’m on like Chapter 8 or 9 and I just started the game like 5 or 6 days ago, based on my comment. I started playing the games a year and a half or so ago. @@regalcartoon5932 in Yakuza 6 you can actually get another upgrade that makes the timing for tiger drop more forgiving if you're having trouble, but it's important to note that the timing is VERY tight in Yakuza 6 and the damage is nerfed too, the good part is that the knockback dealt to enemies is really strong. In Yakuza 6 i personally i like using the parry more (using block at the last second) because even if you don't get the timing right, you can still block the damage and if you get it right, you can heavily punish your enemies. I think that of all the games, the tiger drop is the best to pull of in Kiwami 1, since the timing is forgiving and it does just waaayyy too much damage. Tiger drop really is a matter of training, and you need to remember that it does less damage the more heat you have, so no heat = most powerful tiger drop. Also, i'm on the same boat as you in playing Yakuza games too much lmao. We're Yakuza addicts

Looking back at this video I can see the changes in Amon's behavior over the years They were too difficult to deal with normally and countering was the only and best option to take them out This lasted till Kiwami 1 I supposed Dragon Engine kinda change how effective Tiger drop is so we had to move on to abusing heat action which deals monstrous damage ever since Dragon Engine, except 6 for being the first experimental but that gimmick hit off mostly after Kiwami 2, where gray healthbars are just over-glorified But the fact that 6 nerfing Tiger Drop and making Hact dealing moderate damage as before, making 6's Jo the most difficult to fight, plus the drones and roomba applying external pressure for fighting too long My point is While everyone here uses their counter to deal with their Amon Shinada: 28 STAB WOUNDS

Anyway, you can use the tiger drop, but you have to be careful, if you fail the timing only once, you will be targeted with a ton of punch and kicks,especially at the end of the battle. Komaki parry doesn't work and i never tried with sosuke and kiryu in the coliseum.

I pretty sure that 6 Bars is the maximum of heat gauge you can get in this game. To be precise, I reached 6 bars with kiryu and shinada and 5 with akiyama and saejima on ps3.

@@mrkene6087 The trick is that you have to do the IF7-R boss fight (the VR machine in Kamurocho with the Doc Brown lookalike) a lot of times (I believe around 8-10 with each character) to get less consumption of your heat gauges, more heat bars, and the tokens for the skills.

Hoy so I was wondering when all of the 4 playable characters meet in yakuza 4, is it possible to trade items amongst each other once you reach a certain point?

Anything in a character's personal inventory that they're carrying will remain there when their part ends. Remember, the Item Boxes only combine at the very end, so even if you ditch stuff in the Item Box before the end of the part, you won't be able to get back to that stuff until the Finale. Once you're at the Finale, you'll have access to all four characters and can switch freely between them and exchange items. The only thing that can be swapped are Completion Rewards before the final chapter, at least those than can be done early. By throwing them away, they will respawn when the new characters talk to Bob Utsunomiya

I did it with fists only + 0 damage, there's my old video on ps3. If this is your first time, I would say it is normal to play without weapons. I used a different strategy from ps3, because it's a different strategy and in my opinion is pretty cool.

@@DanteDevil12 I will always look at no damage fights as something godlike in the Yakuza series. It's not that difficult once you master the mechanics and not be stubborn but still, it's pretty damn cool difficult.

@JacobTheCroc From my experience, Yakuza 5 - NO Damage is actually the most easier game in the series in my opinion against bosses ( story). except tojo clan battle ( for many people it's a boss battle, for me and devileon it's a long battle). But long battles ( kamurocho hills for example) without take damage are pretty hard, except if you use guns or weapons. don't take any hits for 10 or 15/20 minutes with minibosses and enemies around without checkpoint is pretty complicated especially with saejima and shinada.

thats from tatsuya's (the chef guy) training. your second health bar slowly drains every time you get into a battle, its nothing to do with the amons specifically. if you watch closely in every battle you'll see each characters 2nd bar draining slightly.

Last Amon fight is so bad, man. You did it like a pro but I hate that Yakuza games tend to pull this absurd mechanics on bosses that you've got to end up cheesing. It's not like you're getting better or something, you end up being master of the cheese. Specially with Kiryu. You can't ever attack, only counter or land a finisher when they're getting up.

Thanks Anonssr. Good point, but you're getting definitely better with tiger drop timing during jo amon's moveset or in general you're timing with counters in this boss battle without spamming R1+Triangle without knowing the timing and hope you succeeded. You can use komaki parry continuously and do the usual 2 or 3 basic combos ( s+t+c or ss+t+c, ss+t etc) +some heat actions, But there is always a repetition of the actions. I preferred to use the tiger drop because at least I enjoy it and without any doubts it's better than spamming ss+t+c during the entire fight, especially because amon love quickstep attacks. But i really don't like this amon fight.

It's called tiger drop, it's a counter attack. Hold down R1 the entire time, and just as the targeted enemy's attack is about to land, press Triangle (very important). Anyway, just remember...Depends a lot on the attack itself, and the enemy by extension. Quick attacks are hard to see and react to ( 20:32) so it becomes difficult to counter them. A good approach is to learn an enemy's attack string, and getting the timing down to counter one of the attacks (usually the last) in the string.

Yakuza 5 has a unique second health bar mechanic. Eating at restaurants can give you a second health bar and additional buffs. But that second health bar slowly drains when fighting, regardless of if you're hit or not
