It was added by Mike Gamble I believe on his Twitter saying the components now only have 2 infusions due to difficulty of balancing them. Weapons still have up to 4 infusions like before. @Dantics

Navarre Packham Tbf this IS new info, and it JUST came out. There is still some cause for concern, for example: Just HOW different are the different tiers of an enemy. Would be nice to get a vidoc where they talk about the enemy designs of Anthem.

@@joshm.9427 I hope your not still harping on about loot boxes. How many times do they have to promise that there will never be loot boxes before you guys will shut up about it. They've given their word, at this point what else do you want from them? Before you answer "EA" and greed and lies and what have you. EA's greed is exactly what will likely prevent Anthem from ever having loot boxes. Because after the whole Battlefront fiasco it became painfully obvious to them that consumers (EA's source of money) are fed up with those kinds of practices. So even if they didn't actually learn any real moral lesson, EA would have to be entirely made up of absolute morons to not realize that promising no loot boxes in Anthem only to add them in later would do them far more harm in the long run than good. They know that people are pissed off with them and Anthem is probably their last chance to get the consumers back on their side. They can't afford to screw this up.

Between the different javelins, abilities, weapons, perks, elemental effects, and the combo system I had already seen a lot of depth even before this video. However, I guess I wasn't really considering enemy depth and if they would be varied enough to actually make you use all that player depth. Thank you, you have given me something to think about.

Don't normally subscribe to KZbin gamers but Dan appears to be the Man. I'm super psyched for Anthem on the PC, partly due to the excellent coverage. One comment on infusions on Components - I seem to recall from another video elsewhere the devs saying that Components are limited to two infusions for balance - as they can just about manage 12 infusions, but 24 (6 x 4 for legendaries) would be next to impossible to balance

I'm still weary as it's EA but I'm really looking forward to the demo :) Instead of bullet-sponging, some games add special skills to the bosses at higher difficulty and spawn more adds during battles, so players need to use more advanced tactics and better team work at higher difficulty.

"the storm will be useless" sounds like people who never played a mass effect. Biotics were hilariously overpowered on lower difficulties, and they fell off as you increased it, but even on insanity/plat biotics were always awesome and essential because there were always unarmored enemies, and shielded enemies lose them eventually at which point your adept/vanguard would absolutely wipe the floor with mobs. No reason to assume anthem will be different when so much of the combat is clearly based off of mass effect.

Moreover I'd like to drop in and say that with the Storm specifically, it seems to take a lot of elements, (pun fully intended,) from Dragon Age mages. How Elements Interact, what they do, and their purpose in fights is almost 1 for 1 from DA:I to Anthem. If that's the case, not having a mage would be a severe gimp to any end-game group.

Can’t imagine storm will be bad in a team.. do sorta worry about interceptor a bit though. Both will prime well but the interceptor likely covers a smaller radius and has to use their body as the center point. If they don’t have invincibility from ult, what will they do on super endgame raid bosses between times that’s not done strictly better by everyone else?

@Joe Dirt the interceptor deals the same weapon damage as everyone else, so they could equip long range abilites and fight from a distance, likely a priming build to support the detonators in the group, and she’ll make up for her lack of standard ability damage with her ult. That’s also not to mentioned that since her ult makes her invincible, she’ll be the best javelin to go in for risky revives

@@RockyLXXXVIII I hope but every ult fully heals the char i think and doesn't lock them into melee so is the interceptor going to be a omg hide because 1 shot will kill me without my ult, is it going to be cooldown based to chain ults so the only play you get to do is spam melee. Is the ult going to even do enough to justify not being able to shoot for however long.. I think the int will be great at taking out key targets like snipers but I can only question how raid boss viable they will be. I mean maybe this is going to be just like wow with everyone taunted onto the colossus so the intercepter doesn't get shot at or every dmg move will be a big red circle to mobility out of but I don't expect that and if I'm only able to really feel useful is during my ult then its going to feel real bad. I'm sure balance will happen to 'fix' any problems but I do worry most about interceptor. The kit just doesn't scream boss killer to me but I mean maybe it will excel in speed farming or hopefully I'll just be completely wrong. Storm's ability to prime everything in an area alone is enough for it to be viable as a support and the same might be true for interceptor but I doubt they will be as good at it.. If I have to use long range abilities all the time and play like I'm deathly afraid except for when I got ult, why not just play something better at range? I see the storm priming all the things, the ranger detonating the boss and the colossus detonating everything else. Don't really see a spot for interceptor.. I mean they could detonate everythign instead of he colossus with melee once every so often but the ranger will be the one needed to detonate on the boss unless the aura reprimes really quick.. Maybe the interceptor acid aura for lowered armor could be useful if they are the most reliable acid source which might be the case

You can't revive during an ultimate though, so unfortunately no - while that would have been an interesting niche for an Interceptor to have, that's not going to be the case. @@RockyLXXXVIII

*bullet sponging is just poor design because there's no way to assert skill to overcome the mechanic.* AI, 1 shot mechanics, and advanced mechanics (such as logistical environmental/coordination/team-work and temporary windows of vulnerability that are not timed but must be initiated with multiple triggers that must be timed - forcing advanced strategy, etc) are just a FEW ways to increase difficulty w/o bullet sponging - which is just 1 way of artificially prolonging fights but also unsatisfying as skill plays no part in "beating that mechanic."

I can see that concern. But my first thought is how crazy the builds can apparently get, with component effects and whatnot synergizing to double or triple ability dmg, on top of the flat stat increases. And then of course if that still fall shorts, that's probably an easy number for Bio to tweak. I just can't wait to get in and try.

Fallout 76 trapped their beta behind a paywall then refused refunds of the game. Bethesda lost my trust on that one, and while im sketchy of EA, im fairly certain this game will be great because of Bioware and how they extremely care about their games

i wish there were more abilities that the javelins had besides two each in which each category is very similiar. Maybe some support effects? Storm can deploy an energy shield, or lift enemies into the air. the colossus can maybe increase everyones damage resistance and damage for a short time, etc.

Good job Dan. I believe late game for the Storm, fire is going to be the best primer. Or just detonate acid primers. I guess it depends on the armor perks ect.

(Colossus) - As far as i know, the lore says that the colossus is the first javelin type made and has no energyshield, only the physical one and i believe the devs said this too. (Interceptor) - the interceptor was build for exploring/scouting and stuff like that. (Ranger) - the ranger is the "improved" battlesuit/javelin compared to the colossus, but that does not mean it's better than the colossus, because it is just different. (Storm) - and last but not least is the Storm that was made by the enemy faction "The Dominion", which means it is the newest javelin, but also kind of a prototype maybe, meaning the lack of armor could be part of the lore if it really is a prototype.
