Glenn IS and ALWAYS will be one of THE most underrated artists, ever. And he always did the way HE wanted and made a pretty good living at it. I am very proud and lucky to have seen Samhain and Danzig a dozen times as I live in Podunk, The Sticks.

people forget that, underneath all the memes... underneath all his self-seriousness... underneath his almost self-parody... glenn danzig is an AMAZING songwriter and vocalist. the misfits oeuvre is a non-stop catchy sing along body of hooks and big energy. songs that are instantly classic and fresh even all these years later. glenn danzig should be taken seriously, just not for the reasons glenn danzig WANTS to be taken seriously. oh and uh... if you like this song, check out "sistinas".

Sistinas live version is magnificent. My favorite song the album as of recently is Left hand black though. The raw energy and vocal changes are impressive.

Danzig “Son of the Morning Star” is a really cool, underrated jazzy track. But of course “I Don’t Mind the Pain” is probably my favorite off the 4th album.

Only Danzig song I was familiar with before recently was "Mother" which of course was played all the time about 40 years ago. Was watching the vampire flick "Abigail" a couple weeks ago and heard this real cool song. No idea who it was, so I checked out the soundtrack on the internet and saw "Blood and Tears" by Danzig. Surprised the hell out of me. Since then, been checking out all his stuff. Excellent tunes. Downloaded a bunch of his stuff. Glad I discovered how good he is.

I can’t shout it out loud and often enough: Danzig is such an underestimated band! It’s blues, metal, rock, … glen is a fantastic singer, the arrangements are perfect! Their songs are nasty, dirty, sexy, warm, sad, aggressive, … So listen to Danzig more and more! Every song is really worth it! My recommendation: I’m the one (album lucifuge) and the sexiest song: she rides (album danzig) and yes she rides 🤘

This album is fucking great.....HER BLACK WINGS.....and KILLER WOLF, are my favs !!!!....I think there is video for both songs......the video is better, I remember much music and MTV played those songs constantly !!!!....John Christ is very underrated guitar player .....this album has Elvis....Johnny Cash and like you said , that musical type sensibility like ''West End Story ''....mixed with Roy Orbison/Jim Morrison flavour that Danzig thrives for....those are his heroes in music......I guess he and the band spiced it up to be blues type metal....I just think Glen was at his vocal peak here and the next few albums !!!!...Danzig 4 is so different than this album...he just kept changing at this time very quickly, to the point that everyone quit on him !!!!

The rockabilly/psychobilly genre often deals with dark lyrics on a RnR musically track. Post-Danzig era Misfits did a few slower songs with very dark imagery. Such as "Crying on a Saturday Night," and "Dig up her Bones." One of my favorite bands from the Horrorbilly genre is "The Coffin Shakers."

Not expecting this from Danzig is because people don’t listen to albums anymore or they play it safe with radio Or streaming so called hits. It takes patience to explore the body of work an artist bleeds!

Danzig II: Lucifuge was released in 1990. The 2018 release is probably a digital remaster. But like most music of the time, it's better in the original analog - a fresh LP more so than cassette.
