If you've been watching you'd know Adam NEVER acts cocky! He can't help it that he's waaaaayyy better than the other contestants. he would have got much trouble when he would have won (and signed a contract(which a winner has to do))and when he would have done the Glamnation concerts like he performed them(an American idol winner must be suitable for the whole family (even for little kids) and his concerts were too hot. He had more artistic freedom and he is nevertheless successful. I think what damaged him more (than the loss of AI) was his AMA For your entertainment performance. Sorry for my terrible english I am german.

He was in the bottom 3 because of voting negligence... it's the same reason why Chris Daughtry was voted off. People felt like everyone else would vote for Adam, like they're vote was being covered or something.... so they didn't bother voting. And since everyone had this thinking, Adam didn't get enough votes to be safe. He should've won.
