I would like to add another end to this short amazing story; once in the world, the pencil one day got broken in two parts. Despite the pain, the pencil stood firm, because the inside was still ok to write. So the pencil rolled its two pieces next to the sharpener and waited, and it wasn’t long, that the man took each piece and sharpened them again and again, finer and finer, until from one pencil only, two new ones were formed. And two men, not only one, could write their story.

For anyone who has been through a scrape or two, the part about the "occasional painful sharpening" rings true. Once sharpened, the pencil does write more clearly.

There is something that my dad said at my graduation that stuck with me. He realized when I was little, as he was watching me run around the house, that children are not swords that you hold onto, but they are like arrows that you eventually let go. And once that arrow hits it's target, they will transform it. To this day, that still makes me cry. I love my dad.

I wish you well and the mental pain you are going tru you can see the light everything will be alright although its tough right now i too am going tru a dark time, but with a different issue, we have to believe it will get better. Its not the end lets look towards a beginning a new day life is hard with a lot of winding curves up and downs, look for the sun shine all will be ok, i have to remember God has me in his hands and guiding me tru this mess that i didn’t created and have no way controlled it. I pray all works for you . I too used to have so much bull at work people just enjoy pushing someone down to make themselves look better, remember you are better than them , feel sorry for them cause they are very unhappy people, i been out of this rat race for about 10 yr due to being disable and looking back now i can see how those people met nothing. You mean a lot remember that .

Wow! What an analogy. This is what I could infer - putting yourself in someone else's hand is to seek mentorship which is especially needed when you are in the process of learning. That mentor might even show you some tough love, and put you through a lot of hardwork but that's just to help you hone yourself.
