Kevin wasn't class of 2002 since he didn't graduate. And I can't imagine Trent getting fat since you almost never see him eat anything and he rarely has money (I also figure he has that cough because he spends his money on cigs when he's not mooching them from someone).

There are a few errors to point out in this trailer: Jodi, Upchuck, Mac and the fashion club were all missing Jodi was actually the valedictorian, not Daria Quinn was a soft more when Daria graduated so she shouldn't be planning the reunion Kevin was left back so this wouldn't be his reunion either The acting was a bit stale in my opinion and they could've found people who looked more like the original cast. ESPECIALLY TRENT Overall though a Daria movie would be a great idea, if had they got their facts right and stayed true to the original. But I guess we can always hope for a 20 year reunion right?

Jane made perfect sense, but she was given just a few seconds of screen time so meh. Quinn was fucking perfect, though as other people have pointed out, she wouldn't actually be involved in the planning. egging daria into going sure but not planning it.

Every comment about the shitty casting is exactly what makes this such a sick sad world; this trailer was pretty much perfect. Who cares who plays the characters, the spirit of the show was still there. A lot of thought and attention was given to this trailer. And Aubrey Plaza was born to play this role. I agree with sawrig: in today's world Daria, or a character like Daria, who sees through this materialistic world and questions it, is more important than ever. I mean, what is more proof than the fact that while MTV once aired such a cynical viewpoint of society, it would now never touch a show like this with a 100 metre pole these days? Instead it chooses to air trash tv and commercial hits. What has happened to the alternative in society? Now we label it "Hipster" and deride it---with much merit, granted---but still where is that viewpoint in the mass media? It's something that is drastically needed.

This movie would be hella depressing. I like to imagine Daria grew up to be happy, not stuck in a preptual cycle of cycnical depression. Same goes for all the characters. instead of trying to see how they evolved out of their high school personalities, this movie would just have them stuck eternally as they were. Quinn was evolving into a smart, intersting person. Daria was growing to see the world might be worth accepting and investigating sometimes. Mr and Mrs Morgendorfer were getting different colorings than "always stressed out and controlling", etc. please, never make this movie or, if you do, take those characters out of their high school rut.

Yeah. There's a movie like that in my country. There was this old movie about a bunch of highschoolers on a ski trip. Then they made a "25 years later" sequel. Just a bunch of middle-aged people desperately trying to hide how broken and burned out they are by trying to be their former cool teenage selves again. Needless to say, inept adolescent sex jokes don't work very well when you're past 30... Ultimately, the movie tried to be a comedy or at least a serious drama if you discard the jokes as frustration from adult life, but failed at both. It's just sad.

What I find ironic about this video is that it perfectly demonstrates why a Daria reboot wouldn’t work. The whole point of the show is that people change and that we adopt personas and dispositions over the course of our lives to best suit her environments and how those change too. Daria in the show straight up says to Jodi “I’m too smart and too sensitive for the world I’m living in now. Who I am works for me and maybe one day I’ll find something that works better”. If they made a Daria movie or a new show the studio would want all the characters to behave the exact way they did when they were 16, except they’re grownup now. That very notion is antithetical to what made Daria great.

I wish this was real. I'll be 26 next month and I'm getting my first dose of nostalgia here. I was a HUGE fan of Daria and I think that she is just what America needs to help us fight the culture wars. Imagine what Daria and Jane would have to say to and about the Mileys and Kardashians of the world. I think Daria should be remade as a live action TV show. They don't even need new scripts, just use the ones from the animated version, believe me they're as relevant today as they were 15 years ago, and better written than the majority of TV shows on now. The sad truth is that the youth of today is just a more horrible version of my generation (though technically since I was born in '87, I'm a Millenial too, at the older end). I guess the Kevins and Brittanys won....for now.

Andrew Harland You're right that the cartoon style series' with real life casts always make ya want to grab two pencils play Oedipus with your eyes. Example: Avatar The Last Airbender.
