Forgot to mention - we really, really appreciate all of your excitement, but please try to refrain from giving hints or ideas about where the story is going. If it changes the way we look at things or points us in a certain direction, it's a spoiler. Even mentioning an upcoming plot twist is a spoiler and leads us to anticipate a twist instead of being completely shocked. Thankfully we haven't seen anything too egregious so far! EDIT: In fact if anyone's interested in acting as a moderator for the comment section (basically spoiler watch), feel free to hit us at pendingchannelname@gmail.com 😅

And that's a wrap on season 1! I want to thank each and every one of you who tuned into this reaction series, whether you shared your excitement with us in the comments or simply supported the videos by watching them. We recorded this whole season weeks before episode 1 was ever uploaded to KZbin, and the whole time we had no idea how many people would see it. I'm glad the Dark fandom is so welcoming and excited for people to watch this show. Season 2 reactions start this weekend! *Once again, sorry for the logo overlay. I don't know why KZbin kept going after this one specifically.

Thank you for putting so much effort into these reactions! From posting regularly to the little notes you put in when editing your videos, and even subtitling that one whole video when something went wrong with the visual recording (I can't imagine how frustrating that must've been). I had a lot of fun watching your season 1 reactions, can't wait for season 2 ^^ Oh and I hope people stop posting such spoilery comments in your comment section, it would be a bummer if you'd have to decide between not reading the comments and not being able to enjoy the show as much ://

It's almost a crime that a lot of people have never heard of or watched Dark because.... It's easily one of the greatest TV series ever. Everything in it, the writing, the casting, the music, the monolgues, the cinematography, the montages, is a work of art. And Dark has the best season finales of any show that I've ever seen. Oh... I love the Noah mentions pain counter. 😅

I love y'all's acuity with this show. I've seen some reactors who are just flummoxed, purely dumbfounded by the show. Utterly LOST (another great series) by Dark who cannot keep up with it at all, even during season 1. In fact, one reactor gave up after the first season. You two... you've done amazing! Now, let's hope you can keep up in the following seasons. 😉 😉

Finally catched up with your reactions! 48:36 About distinguishing between the timeperiods. It is true that they used color correction for the different timeperiods, but this idea on relying on them came actually pretty late in the conception of the show as Nick Summerer (Director of Photography) said in an interview. For season 2&3 they got more time in getting a unique look for every period - not that season 1 looks bad by any means, it looks amazing actually. But it is great to see a show not just "slamming" them ontop of the image, but actually putting in the effort. And also using different methods (e.g. using different lenses, adding diffusion around the edges) Other than that, one has to praise everything else communicating it being different eras: The sound design (Best example being the police station: heavy typerwriter noises in the 50s, telefons and computer clacking in 2019, or the clacking of "hard" shoes on the mostly wooden floorbords in 53), the costume design and of course the dialogue (referencing bits of trivia about the individual periods: Chernobyl in the 80s, James Dean in the 50s etc.) Also: Your reactions are great, keep it up!

14:14 first off, I love you're little messages on the screen that are put in during post-production/edit. It's like a belated reaction, and it lets us know that you did catch the significance of something, eventually. Second, would you consider it to be a spoiler if someone were to either give a simple denial or confirmation of such a basic posit?

Of course it's a spoiler to give any information that has not been presented yet. Even pointing out things that have already happened in the show but will be recontextualized later is a spoiler. Like the rest of us please be patient if they dont pick up on something. They are very attentive and i'm sure they will find out later and if they dont, you can tell them once they finish the show.

A bit of extra trivia: Cesium-137 - the fuel for the timemachine - is a real fission product of Uranium in nuclear reactors. It also has a half-life of about 30 years, trying to circle into the 33 year rule.
@AmarthwenNarmacil3 ай бұрын
Another bit of trivia: Cesium 133 (not 137 but hey, another 33!) is used to basicaly define time. In atomic clocks, one second is measured by the frequency of Cs-133 (that's the easy explanation, it's of course way more complicated).

You can tell people aren't writers when they judge a show for not answering everything. Look at "Twin Peaks". The episode they finally answered who the killer was, and stopped posing questions, the viewship dropped dramatically. Since then shows/writers in the know of that history, make it a point to NOT answer questions and throw more in or you WILL lose your audience.
@asian-americanwithanopinio89543 ай бұрын
Speculation: Channel Name Pending don't come off as viewers/reactors like that. I think that applies to average viewer, and if a reactor is doing "Dark" in the first place, they are by default NOT the average viewer/reactor. They are BETTER than the average reactor because they already proved they have an open mind and better taste in shows/movies.
@ChannelNamePending6993 ай бұрын
Fun fact, though you probably already knew this, but if I recall correctly David Lynch never intended on revealing the killer in the first place, or at least not at that point in the story. It was the network who forced his hand and made him do it. Wonder how differently the show would've turned out had he done things the way he wanted to.

I have seen like two seasons of it and I am not sure why people get so hyped about it; yeah, the acting is not so shabby but the writing is a hot mess; it is obvious that they will either run out of fresh ideas or jump the shark at some point as they write without a clear vision in mind;
