Oh damn, I've seen this at least 3 or 4 times plus countless reactions and I never even made the connection. This is the great thing about Dark, you can watch it again and again and find somthing new everytime.

As far as Adam being scarred, remember...the other ppl we see time travelling are using the suitcase which is a near perfect time machine. Jonas is the only one jumping through God Particle portals or crawling through blackholes in the caves, so it's believable that he'd be messed up more than the rest.

I know it's probably asked a lot, but once you've finished DARK. I'd really like for you to do a rewatch with everything revealed to you. :D I think nobody on KZbin has done it so far. I'm asking because you 2 are so good at picking up details from this show. That is why it could be really interesting to see you "re-watch" it :D Of course it depends on how you feel when you're finished with S3. ^^ Please consider :D Love from Germany

@@ChannelNamePending699 I would watch it! I don't think there's a more rewatchable show out there. There's so many hints, details and foreshadowing in the earlier episodes that can only be picked up once you finish the show. Also a lot of interactions and connections between characters can be seen in a totally different light once you know some things.

Stranger Jonas at this point is still in denial that he will eventually become Adam. He also, despite evidence to the contrary, believes he can change things.

this scene made me such a dark fanboy, i was also so stunned and couldn't believe it because our jonas was the hero and adam the badguy... and what the stranger said about claudia "she became what she wanted to fight" is like the saying from the dark knight "You either die a hero or you live long enough to become the villain". i was so surprised but also excited that the "travelers"(the enemy) wanted to meet him... i already expected the unexpected but this one really blew me away 😂 also what makes this scene so good is the lack of backgroundmusic, it just felt so eerie and you just don't know what is about to happen. imo this was just a much better version of "luke, i am your father"

Theory: You guys remember in season 1 when Noah was talking about meeting a stranger when he was younger? Perhaps Jonas was the stranger he was referring to? He also said some other things that were very interesting. Not sure if you guys would rather not go back though. It was in season 1 ep 10 at around 27:10. About 2-3 minute conversation.

I remember the scene and interestingly enough when I first watched it, I actually had a fleeting thought that he *was* talking about Jonas, because it cuts directly to the Stranger as he's speaking (who I was already convinced was Future Jonas at the time).

@@ChannelNamePending699 yup and adult Jonas in season 1 is referred to as ‘stranger’ in the credits. However, what do you make of the “nothing is in vain” comments that followed? Noah says he initially did not understand the strangers words. And that “Only years later when I felt the pain, did I understand what he meant”.

5:20 You corrected yourselves about the power plant getting built 100 years later, but I still find it interesting that it was supposed to be shut down and getting demolished around that time; well the German word for something getting demlished is "Abriss" but in this case the German word is "Rückbau" which would be to de-build it. They also mentioned "die grüne Wiese" implying that it would be a green pasture afterward; Then again, "die grüne Wiese" is also the term to describe building projects outside of cities; like the US malls that were built outside the (commercial) city centers (and therefore often ruined the businesses located there) So it could have looked a lot more like this in the later 2020 and 2030s, but around the 2050s, they might have built a new commercial, industrial, or even residential zone here

7:00 Some people find it weird that the show comes back to this. But when only Jonas dreamt about it, it was unclear if it was a fantasy or a memory; so this scene pretty much solidifies that

10:40 I love a neat continuity. Remember that Jonas was last seen stepping into the stabilized particle cloud at the end of episode 2? So at the beginning of this episode one might wonder whether he was lying in that field for all the time that passes on the 1921 timeplane parallel to episode 3... or June 23rd 1921. But nope. The beginning of this episode depicts June 23rd 1921, then we jumped to June 24th 2020 and now we are finally back in sync after Jonas slept through the rest of that day

18:50 if I ever talk to Jantje I will bring up this stupid dialog. Claudia did not ask for a physical keyboard. The response to "where is the keyboard" should not have been "there is none". It could have been a "it should pop up if you tap into the (input) field" but that assumes the young woman to be rather tech savy... I think the expected reply would have been a "if it doesn't pop up you can try a different computer or you need to talk to some staff member"

Have you ever noticed that Claudia doesn't need a cellphone for her timemachine but the others need one? It's only a theory but as you also pointed out, there is a different time machine in Adam's hideout. The theory is that they did the timetravel shenanigans with the chair to improve the suitcase timemachine so it wouldn't need to be activated by a cellphone in the 1920s (and preserving the knot due to all its outcomes). The coils around this prototype machine and from the chair have the same design. This is also probably how Tannhaus knew that a cellphone can activate his machine since he saw that electromagnetic wave inducing coils were build into the future machine.
