There was a novel about lost things. I didn't read it nor do I remember its title. The NYTBR reviewer excerpted a paragraph where a person muses about a place where one goes to rediscover lost dreams, illusions, ambitions, et cetera. She is disappointed to discover he meant a place to find that odd sock, or the old room key.
