I'm going to build with this case soon and since you're also a Star Trek fan, you get my subscription.

I still love this case. I use it as a server for game hosting and storage backups and it is just so quiet! It's an always-on deal and I'm very happy with it! Welcome to the Dark Base 900 club, Live Long and Prosper! 🖖

I love cases like that; a lot of air mass (great for cooling), tons of storage space, and easy to work in, but the shouldn't have a window (I hate them) or mesh (dust magnets). I also prefer a front door, I hate using force to pull the front off to access the filter, it's just a matter of time that something breaks.
@Horizon-hj3yc Жыл бұрын
I watched a video of that case; they call them "noise-dampened vents". Mmm...I would call them dust magnets for the in- and outside of the case, or am I missing something? Why add a front intake with a filter, and then allow dust to enter the case elsewhere through these vents? It makes no sense. Other than that.... an awesome case.

It will fit, yes.

i just got my setup up and running its just like your last one, i got the 5950x and a dark hero too. I just need to figure out to to enable the RAM to run at its overclock speed. how do over clock the ram?

Go into the BIOS and enable the DOCP/XMP profiles. How are you enjoying the 5950X?

@@UnhingedSystems thanks, worked! im going to be editing and uploading on my channel more and I cant wait to see it rip thru 4k renders. im getting the mono block and the GPU block with active back plate. i have an AIOfor now and even the GPU has an AIO so its half done. kinda funny, making it cooler...

I hate this case more than I've ever hated any case I've ever used. It's the very definition of "over-engineered". It's waaaay too complicated for a case. The engineers were trying to be too clever.
@UnhingedSystems2 жыл бұрын
Fair enough! I really like the case personally but it certainly could be more affordable with a little less over-engineering. The wireless charger is cool, but I rarely ever use it (because it's less efficient and I don't mind plugging my devices in to charge). Thank you for the comment!
@dontwanttojoingoogle17992 жыл бұрын
@@UnhingedSystems Wireless charger is cool, but everything else... That back plate for the PSU is obnoxious: why not supply an additional back plate for those of us who don't want the "soft switch" and an extra power cable to tuck in? The PSU shroud took longer for me to figure out than it should've. It really didn't need to be screwed in that thoroughly; it's not a weight-bearing structure. The fan electronics -- again, totally over-engineered. Modern mobos have copious fan headers; why not just use them? I dunno. I guess this has taught me that we should pick and choose what to be clever with, and a case is not one of them. At least, for me. I choose a dead simple, light-weight case. This case, I'm sure, is pretty awesome, but for a niche crowd; not for the general rig builder.
@UnhingedSystems2 жыл бұрын
@@dontwanttojoingoogle1799 I totally agree, that PSU shroud is horrendous! There is no doubt it is a high-quality case with a lot of thought and clever engineering, but it comes down to the age old asking can we instead of asking should we.

Will an RTX 4090 & a Corsair RM1200x SHIFT fit this case? Thanks :)
@Klinikas Жыл бұрын
Soon I'll have to change psu. will I have to remove the motheboard for that?
@UnhingedSystems Жыл бұрын
PSU should come out without removing anything else, 99% of the time. That being said, if you update your PSU please don't re-use any of the old cables.
