So did it completely slip Tempus Fuginaut's mind to just gather a bunch of Alfred's with shotguns and call it a day? Or did he determine that was too much power for even himself to wield? Pulling on that thread further, the Dark Multiverse wouldn't exist if every dark universe had an Alfred with a shotgun, I guess.

So Barbatos should’ve known he would never win when he entered the multiverse. Because there is a reality in the dark multiverse, which he lords over, where he wins. That is an outcome that can’t happen on the other side. So what was the point?
@KingChrobar4 жыл бұрын
could be this earth didnt exsist until after metal happened after on earth-0, since the dark earths comes from nightmares. someone couldve had a nightmare where the heroes lost in metal and then the dark earth was made. still a dumb explanation but its the best we got.
@spencerchuong15104 жыл бұрын
Let me explain: How universes are created is that it is forged from the hopes and fears of every living being in the Multiverse, not from possibly where if choose this in another universe you chose the other. So really the idea that you lost cause the universe you’re in is the possibility where you did lose while there is another universe born from the possibility where you won is out of the question. And idk if you know this, but in the Dark Multiverse every dark universe is unstable and will destroy itself no matter what
@gray_mckay3 жыл бұрын
@@spencerchuong1510 if I’m not wrong (and after all this dark multiverse craziness I might be). Barbatos in his position as the ‘dragon’ was the one who actually destroyed the worlds created in the dark multiverse once they kind of hit their ‘points of no return’ , not that the worlds actually eventually died on their own. For example in the Tales of the Multiverse Blackest Night the universe ends up becoming populated entirely with Lobo-like creatures, and Sinestro begs Tempus Fuginaut to free him from that hellish universe, not to free him from a dying one. And Carter Hall (Hawkman) does actually take up the mantle of the ‘dragon’ but instead of being tasked to destroy the worlds like Barabatos originally did, he is meant to stop anyone from messing with the Dark Multiverse. Basically, Barbatos was the one destroying the worlds before he rebelled and ‘created’ the dark multiverse by not destroying these worlds and allowing them to live on and create these evil main character (aka Batman Who Laughs, The Final Knight, etc.) Gotta love modern DC and the mental gymnastics required to understand it!

My understanding of the Dark Multiverse, at least from you Dark Knights Metal episode, was that the worlds in the Dark Multiverse weren't necessarily defined by being dark or evil or whatever, but rather it was more like they were worlds that weren't supposed to exist. Basically like the cosmic comic book writers pitched these worlds to the cosmic comic book editor and the editor said "no, that is stupid", but then that editor died so now these worlds are a thing, or something like that.
@Tamaki7424 жыл бұрын
Those editors could've really helped us.
@gray_mckay3 жыл бұрын
You pretty much hit the nail on the head. In your analogy Barbatos was the ‘editor’ originally who was supposed to take these crappy worlds, destroy them, so their energies could be used to make new world for the main multiverse. But he said “Fuck this, Fuck my job, Fuck my boss” then killed his boss (The World Forger AKA The Moniter and Antimonitors brother) and stopped destroying the worlds and they were just left to keep on existing and getting worse (Kinda like TFTDM Blackest Night were not only do most of the people die, then the entirety of life becomes Lobo people), and this new universe of rejects became known as The Dark Multiverse.
@Doddser2 жыл бұрын
God the whole discussion about the Multiverses within the Dark Multiverse makes my nerd brain so happy. It's such intricate bullshit that clearly wasn't thought about for more than five seconds by the creators, but you can talk about for hours on end. I think the whole thing wouldn't even be that confusing if the word "Multiverse" wasn't used to designate the Dark Multiverse. It's more of a Dark Omniverse, or a realm of Dark Stories that don't necessarily stay bound to a universe or multiverse etc.
