See if you go by the original Flashpoint explanation, it's because he's basically a being who lives outside of time and space as we understand it (which the speed force was confirmed back in the 80s to be an extradimensonal force)

Basically due to the fact that Barry and Thawne are so influential to each other and Barry to the literal multiverse as a whole (ex. Crisis) Thawne gets a free pass to do what he wants as erasing him would destroy reality.

@@donkyoofficial It isn’t a barrier for people and one shots literally end with the word “The End” when you finish them. It’s not complicated. One shots without a number aren’t suddenly better. Since you are a casual comic fan, you are seemingly unaware that one shots are the minority and all of them having a number 1 isn’t a problem unless you’re easily confused. It just happened with The Timeless. DC has its summer and winter specials every year where it’s not hard to figure out if you just pick one up.

@@donkyoofficial Issue 0s are stupid where I get pushing back on those when DC and Marvel would say a story starts with an issue 0. That has thankfully stopped at least for the time being. Dark Horse with the Star Wars issue 0s made sense because they would be like handbooks with brief summaries of characters and ships that you would read about in the issue 1 the next month and beyond for the series. Casual fans usually say it’s harder to just jump in on a number 27 or like a 78 which makes more sense if you’re not as well versed in comics, not getting hung up on one shots having a number 1 on them. Marvel even placates to casual fans with relaunching comics at 1 only to get the initial boost from a number 1 before it tapers off quickly so going for the casual comics fans never works.

I think the Darkness is that it is Thawne's world and it was always going to be. The second Barry died and Thawne was free'd from the speedforce, it was his world. It was always going to end with Thawne winning, and the only reason it's not some weird Emperor Reverse Flash situation is because of that one act of heroism by Superman. But it's still Thawne's sandbox, he just decided he'd rather play the hero then the villain, It's his world

The darkest part is knowing how much better things could turn out if only he decided to be good in the main universe but also knowing that didn't or won't happen. That the main dc universe is essentially missing out on what is quite probably the most effective super hero that could ever possibly exist. One that would eclipse even Superman himself by orders of magnitude in measurably affecting humanity for the better. All because he can't get over his, by comparison, seemingly small and petty personal hangups about flash. And also the idea that even if a dark universe does manage to get back on a track, where things do somehow turn out well, it will ultimately be destroyed by the dragon and returned back to the universal forge or whatever.

This book does have a pretty dark implication. Thawne is literally playing God with this universe. He's turning it into his own personal playground. He's a hero right now, but he could go back at any point and change that. This universe has been reduced to a plaything to be shaped on his whim.

Hi guys, loving the content. I mostly read graphic novels. So I was wondering if you guys would bring back the reading recordation videos ( that’s actually how I found this channel in the first place). Myself and Sal’s taste are very similar (I’m sure that’s true for most people watching this) every time you said something was good i really enjoyed it.
