David Selby said it best. I watched as a child. But now at 68 years old. Im watching the whole series. Start to finish, i find it fascinating. Im drawn into the world of collinwood. I watch for hours. It's hard to stop. I even get angry with villians root for the good guys. ❤

There is still something very sensual about David Selby all these years later, that curvy-lipped smile and gleam in his eyes. And Lara Parker has a sense of wicked playfulness that is not just in the "Angelique" character, but something clearly in her own self. And Kathryn Leigh Scott, still beautiful as ever, but with maturity commanding an almost regal presence once associated with Miss Joan Bennett in the original series. It's great to hear and see these fine actors and actresses found so much fun and pleasure in re-creating their roles almost half a century later. When they first began their "Dark Shadows" journeys, these actors were at the beginning of their careers and their first audience was mostly older children and teenagers, who comprised the bulk of the serial's viewership. It also cannot be a coincidence David Selby named his own son after the "Dark Shadows" character portrayed by David Henesy, a character with whom Selby's "Quentin" had been so intimately involved in at least one storyline. A pity Mr. Henesy could not have participated, but perhaps in another radio drama, or even in a live staging? And great if they could also persuade Denise Nickerson to reprise her role of "Amy Jennings," Roger Davis to return as "Charles Delaware Tate" (or one of his other characters), and maybe even Jerry Lacy to return as "Reverend Trask" and Alexandra Moltke Isles to return as "Vicky Winters" too. Even with so many of the former players having, sadly, passed away, there are still many still alive who it would be great to see reunited with their old "Dark Shadows" castmates. And perhaps Matt Hall--son of original "Dark Shadows" scribe the late Sam Hall and the late actress Grayson Hall, whose "Dr. Julia Hoffman" (among several other characters in different storylines) often carried the show along with the late Jonathan Frid's outstanding "Barnabas Collins" portrayal--could also become involved as a co-writer with Jamison Selby. I know I would enjoy having the opportunity to see a live staging of "Dark Shadows" myself, should this same cast find it in themselves to offer a reprise, adding some other former castmates. In fact, it wouldn't be a bad idea to make a road company of the concept for one last "Dark Shadows" hurrah. Even better if they could do it all in costume, and with lines memorized and blocking rehearsed, just like the old daily TV show. Just imagine, "Dark Shadows," coming live onstage soon, to a theater near you! Pass the word around!!

Thanks so much for posting this very interesting behind the scenes look at the Making of Return to Collinwood. I was one of the 2,000+ in the audience that wonderful day back in 2003. The play captured so much of the "DS spirit" than fans so enjoyed from the original series.

DS actress Kathryn L Scott is friends with actor Johnny Depp and she gave him a copy of this audio CD from MPI because he was a huge fan of the show. She said that Johnny loved it. How cool is that.

David Selby looks pretty different in looking more younger by been less hairy from shaving off his sideburns, but there's still seem to be a beard growing in his chin, and of course, whiter hair.

I think Alexandra pretty much distanced herself from the show. She was at only one (maybe two) Dark Shadows Festivals from what I've heard. She had children, found religion and started writing kids' books. She even looks a lot different now. Her hairstyle, lack of makeup and demeanor is almost like a character you'd see on "Little House on the Prairie". I liked her on Dark Shadows. She was so pretty, so sweet. Now she reminds me of a nun.
