This has something really special. The firelink shrine or just the bonfire itself is just a place, outside of all the stress and all this . You come here to sit down, relax and take a brake off everything. Just you and the bonfire. I really like this spirit. So sit down fellow knight, relax and listen to the crackling fire. "May you find peace, on your journey" (I'm German so maybe my english is not the best :D )

I love the way these games give you this almost tangible sense of comfort and respite when you are near that bonfire. What it represents in game, and by extension what it means to you as a player of videogames, is something that can feel almost spiritual at times.

I just beat the game last year. So good. Love these games. I'll be honest, they seemed unapproachable until jedi fallen order came out. Then it clicked, and when I first played ds1 a year ago, it was like playing Zelda as adult link in a fallen hyrule with limited heart containers.
