VERY LATE to the party I understand, but if anyone is still there, I can explain the Dusk/Elizabeth thing. The reason is Elizabeth replaces Dusk as a merchant when the DLC starts. If she didn't die, then players could kill Dusk without consequences, cheesing the system.

I'm pretty sure that the reason you find Elizabeth already dead in the past if you kill Dusk in the present is because of a programming quirk. Elizabeth effectively takes Dusk's place as a specific merchant who sells a number of spells and items exclusively. Since Dusk is supposed to be absent until the very end of the DLC, the devs didn't want players accidentally screwing themselves over because they started the DLC. So in the DLC content, Elizabeth is probably identified in the code/scripting as the same merchant as Dusk is in the present. The various merchants are identified because they all have unique inventories, prices, and abilities (like Oswald's absolving of sins). I'm guessing they use the same ID for present Dusk as for past Elizabeth. So, kill Dusk in the present, and the game thinks that that merchant is already dead (killed by you) when you reach Elizabeth's area in the past. There's probably some internal logic check to prevent this problem that normally works, but perhaps the exact order you did things in was one of the bizarre contingencies they simply never thought of, and thus it passes the check in a way that wasn't intended. Either that, or Dusk is secretly a giant talking mushroom.

That's the whole point of this challenge! I've fought the bosses of this game so often that they don't really pose too much of a challenge for me now. Some of the NPC's like Ciaran, on the other hand, I've never fought before. Was really quite fun to hit that wall of seemingly insurmountable difficulty again. Frustration followed by learning followed by victory. The addictive Dark Souls formula.

Oooh I've never seen someone use the blacksmith's hammer. I do love the smashy weapons. And as soon as I heard Zeppelin start I knew it would be a loooooong fight ;) Great episode as always!

Definitely an underrated band. They had a peculiarly unique way of playing something from basically any genre and it sounding good.

Can't wait to see how the new changes play out. The pushback mechanic and the fact that you can get knocked out of animations makes it sound like space and movement are going to take priority. It's going to be a different feel but I can see the potential, particularly for pvp.

Didn't expected answer, thanks, also it reminded me of prince "DickHard" XD. Me on SL 1 run on NG+, but i gave up on Kalameet and Manus (struggled with them 2-3 days then rage quit). But i saw your Glass cannon where you "cheesed" them XO, it was mindblowing. I wish you more challenges and interesting ideas .

Heh, well you weren't wrong! I knew it would be bad but when I first saw the damage I was completely stumped for a second. I was surprised he didn't one shot me either. I've heard boss damage partially scales to your health but I've seen the Greatsword poke completely mess up regular sl120 characters before. Fingers crossed for Manus, just about to start recording once I've dealt with Chester!

Nope. Elizabeth is the guardian of Dusk, is in a different place when you rescue Dusk from Manus, talks differently, and...is a mushroom.

One other thing, aside from Ciaran, I consider Chester to be a far more difficult NPC to kill, especially if you fail on the first try. And since I do strictly only base-SL runs, usually shield-less, he ruins my day over and over again. Best thing you can do is get him staggered and land as many hits with the hammer as possible, then attempt to roll through his arrows and projectiles and get close again and rinse and repeat til dead. But he has a good amount of hit points too, and doing this is sort of luck-based or super hard, haven't decided. You CAN, if his health is low enough, kick him off the ledge and kill him with fall damage where Kalameet's area is. BUT, if he doesn't die, now you've got him and two dogs to worry about. Suffice it to say, from a totally different angle he the Black Phantom Satsuki from Demon's in hard-ness for me. Not to mention you need to fight him primarily on very narrow ledges that favor his arrows and projectiles a lot more than anything you have. And if you fail the first time to kill him, he aggro's immediately making closing the distance to hit him even harder. Plus, the sweep kick he does sucks, ironically his Black Phantom is easy as hell.

Maybe Elizabeth is Dusk. What we summon is a young Dusk, so maybe Eli is an older Dusk that survived by you and recalls.

Artorias will be no problem? I was like "dude I wanna see the damage with crystal magic weapon and THEN we can talk about that again". Well, he's always a fun boss if you do challenge runs and it was a good fight, but I was surprised he didn't 1shot you. On the other hand, I didn't expect Ciaran to be such a badass but I usually keep her alive coz I'm not such a meanie D= Good video man, Manus has even better defense against magic damage iirc... =)

You can actually get quite a few crits on Artorias especially with the Giant Hammer. Due to it's high jumping arch during R2 attacks, you can actually catch him while he's spamming those jumping attacks in the air, if your doing the same R2 at the same time he's spamming. Another thing is catching him as he's rolling away, which is why I ONLY go for R2's in this fight, whereas when he did his forward dash you went for a R1. If you go for a R2 you've got a shot at catching him as he's rolling out of it. And also, go for THREE hits with the Hammer every time you break his powerup poise, you'll have more than enough time to get away. Anyway, go to your video manager and check your damn PM's bro!!! :) You'll like what you see, guaranteed. :P

Google for "Proxytube" or "youtube proxy" and you will find plug-ins for your browser that allow you to watch the video. The only problem that remains, is that youtube sees that you will not be able to watch the video and will not show you the videos in search results, or even on the listed videos on various channels. Wasn't easy to find Part 8. If Somethodox could add links to his other videos of the series, maybe in the 1st Video, it would help people that have to proxy the videos, a lot :)
