I gotta necrobump this video. The tomato story had me in stitches with laughter, because my best friend owns a restaurant, and one of her new hires (a teenager out of high school) cut tomatoes for her. No sh*t there wasn't a slice that wasn't under an inch thick. Like, three slices per tomato. And he seriously just ... doesn't get it.

I mean you can probably try telling/teaching that ignorant fuск (bet it's someone else by now also YT censorship is a B) to sharpen the knife every now and then, but that's just me. Seriously though, I can cut relatively good even with a dull knife (i.e. last time I've sharpened it was what, mid 2023? Almost a year by now😅), but that doesn't mean the teen can't do it. Took me some time and practice to learn how to cut thinner, yet I still am bad at it, kinda.

"Tiggers are wonderful things!" I always loved that song. I've always been stoic, and sort of Christian. I've been accused of mixing Christianity with Taoism, and they both seem kind of stoic to me. You have to deal with shit and tolerate shit all the time, and you can't expect any reward for it so you have to find a way to enjoy it as you go. I found I could enjoy anything. For instance, the other kids at school were always attacking me. They outnumbered me and they were bigger than me, so I could never hope to outrun them. I arrived at the stoic decision that I had to attack in every fight, and I had to learn to enjoy it. I enjoyed it so much and laughed so much while fighting that I drove them insane with rage. It just became my way of handling everything. When other people were running from something or avoiding something, I would go right at it, thinking: "This is going to be fun!" If I had to clean the toilets at work, I could have fun with it. The Stoic, Christian, Taoist attitude: "Everything is Effeffin' effed, but it will be fun, and I will win all the way to the end."

A good realization is that the job really doesn't matter, nothing is beneath you if others are willing to pay for it. Everyone has the same amount of time. You want me to do a bowel stimulation? (I am a male nurse) NP. You want me to just sit as a respite? Don't care. It pays the same.

The lack of conscientious workers is a feature of Today's Western Civilization not a bug. Pretty much everyone who actually can think a few years ahead is either working for themselves or building a "FIRE" escape vehicle. It used to be extremely wealthy people that knew about the "FIRE" option, but now everyone with 5 minutes of internet research capability knows and they are leaving the workforce as soon as possible. Hard to blame them. Hard work and producing is not incentivized by corporate america once you're promoted to a certain level. It's all about being liked by the people in charge of a corporation's purse strings.

It's impossible to move up when management is garbage and people around you are incredibly lazy. If you shine people will attack you using H.R. as a weapon or worse. My favorite one is that I'm too slow according to the computer program when my task are completed and other employees are still trying to finish their work. I'm frustrated beyond my limit with the constant gaslighting and unnecessary bullshit. Or these employers that want a dedicated employee that will work seven days a week for poverty wages.
@Johnny_De_Leon
@Johnny_De_Leon Жыл бұрын
@@invisibletosociety8338 Absolutely. It's best to find a different job at that point. Always take a hard look at your company's incentive structure and make the judgement call on whether you want to navigate those waters. It's always best to develop rare skillsets that are absolutely necessary for your company to continue existing. No matter how well run a company is, you'll eventually run into the Peter Principle and have to make your peace with incompetence.

Cappy's complaint is really a "lack of investment"; education, process, materials. Much of our economic structure is very pricey in terms of training, process, materials, and takes a fortune in learning to keep up what works now, let alone greater productivity into the future. And, instead, we piss away our productive surplus on fashion, government, decorum, borrowing, social causes, equaity.

31:22 - Actually- this has been the most depressing thing for me (previously to recently meeting a Godsend, and both of us feel like "it was worth all the years of hell" to find each other)- But: it is MIND. FUCKING. BLOWING. To see these people always winning wit sex. Maybe their relationships are dramatic & trashy, but they're still getting laid regularly- and most of them don't have terrible relationships. Mind. Blowing. Always made me question "What the FUCK is wrong with ME?!!?" I'm guessing not giving a fuck, and I KNOW not analyzing situations, is a big part of it. But, high standards eventually pay off. That and not overthinking oneself. And confidence. Number one.

If you love your free time and live a minimalist lifestyle, I'm semi-retired and now drive a school bus instead of working in the business world like I used too. Lots of time off, but always extra work if you want it, paid holidays, all the HR benefits that modern liberals can think up, and $30 an hour on top of that. I've seen wages recently rise to $38 an hour in major metro school districts. It's the lowest stress job that I've ever had. Plus, if you want to hustle, on the weekends you can drive a motor coach for private outfits (remember, the school district already pays for your CDL, continuing ed, and regular physical exams) and with tips, my fellow drivers who do this often make around $100 an hour combined tips and wages. Because we have the Summer's off (if you want), you can travel, work some cool job at a National Park, drive a tour bus, etc. I elected to work 2 of my 3 months off in the summer for the school district (just 4 days week at 6 hours a day for Summer school routes), and they gave me a $1,000 bonus each month on top of wages for doing so, and I still had lots of free time for hiking, surfing and pounding weights.

I'd easily take a small, mindless job with great benefits that keeps me from having to spend my own nest egg. more time and cash for me!
