The fact that the state prosecutor gave these two plea deals without getting any additional information about other possible victims in return reeks of a cover up. Plus just the fact that a plea deal was still on the table after they had booby trapped the property and destroyed evidence is highly suspicious.

I'm not so sure that it's definitely a coverup. It very well could be. But it could be that the prosecution wanted a definite guilty conviction. I've seen many cases where the prosecutor was lazy and didn't want to do the extra footwork to go for the more severe charge and instead offered a less severe charge in exchange for a guilty plea. I think it's probably moreso that than the coverup. There was likely huge public outrage and they just wanted to put it to bed as quick as possible.

100%, it clearly implies Tim is the submissive one and James is the dominant one in this relationship, where James knows Tim will help no matter what and is expected to help, likely a pattern of behaviour that’s been carried out god only knows how many times. Examples of these kinds of codependent relationships where couples kill (not necessarily romantically involved, the relationship can be platonic but incredibly close like brothers) are Karla Homolka & Paul Bernado, Fred and Rose West, or even Ian Brady and Myra Hindley. They have a modus operandi, expected roles, rehearsed plans, should something go wrong back up plans and the part each person has to play. Tim and James’ relationship really makes me think of dom/sub killers, and Tim was more than comfortable with his role in their relationship. Would not wanna be searching the woods around their home, I’ve no doubt there’s things to be found out that way.

It's true, we don't know the extent, and like any good ghost story it's the not knowing that give folks the creeps in a special kind of way. I have travelled the country homeless for years and have had some creepy encounters with strange people, I feel ya. There was one time in Springfield during the winter it was cold as shit and some random dude said he was moving and let me stay in his guest room, I got the address and told him I'd think about it, I eventually went to the house and it was one house with two front doors, the entire house was messed up like he was moving or doing construction or something and the guest room had no lights and that was the room with one of the front doors but it was boarded up and there was a hallway between that and the front room with the only exit. BUT in that hall way there was a spotless bathroom (only place in the house that was spotless) with a perfectly clean butcher knife by the sink (it was the only thing in the bathroom). 😂 I got a REAL BAD vibe and told him I changed my mind. It's a secluded area where many things stay in the shadows. Having grown up in Lebanon, I can confidently say there's plenty of sus behavior that gets swept under the rug. Am I the only person to notice this? Angela Hammond disappeared in 91 in clinton, MO. The abductor had a "70s ford pickup truck". Phelps and Norton lived near lebanon, about a 2 hour drive, since the early 90s. They have an old ford pickup truck. Looks like early 80s. Not a bad match. Possibly, it's a little older if the grilles and hoods are compatible between years. I don't know enough about those old fords to tell you that. Partial color mismatch but I can see that the thing has been badly repainted at least once. So much algae on it that I can't tell for sure if there's any green paint on it. Homeless people are vulnerable to so many things. One of the worst is other people, sick people who prey on those who are struggling with mental health issues, addiction, both, HIV/AIDS, HepC and are in reduced monetary status. These people are hopeful that someone good will help them out of their dire situations. Unfortunately, these predators know this and go out looking in places where they congregate. This story is not only criminal but one of the worst because these men predated upon vulnerable women and then tortured them before ultimately taking their lives. I'm profoundly grateful that they are incarcerated for life but there are more like them still out there. We need to be more compassionate to the homeless people. They are at such risk for terrible things to happen to them. Thank you for presenting this story and creating a space to inform the public.

Because regardless of what you believe court is never a guarantee and a guilty plea is the most effective and money saving way, why have a trial if they plead guilty? @@jadeybaby007 Somewhere in the story, maybe not here, they said she was tortured for at least 3 days. Yes yes, you mean the _soul_ will be troubled if the body is made into patties for grilling.

@@BariumCobaltNitrog3n I think you’re trying a little too hard to be flippant and graphic about this crime. It’s inappropriate and totally out of place. The truth is that unless you were there or watched the tapes, you really don’t know.

@@jadeybaby007 This video, this whole story is about murder, rape and torture. It's fascinating to me how broken people can be and still "function" in society. You claim to be physically sick just thinking about these two, taking the focus away from the story and onto you and everything that offends you. I offended you just talking about the story, factual elements IN the story. The phony moral outrage is stale and your inappropriate ad hominem serves no purpose but to highlight that you have nothing worthwhile to add to the conversation.

I talked to this fella a few times. Once he came down to the river on his quad and complained about people leaving trash everywhere told us thank you for keeping our trash clean. Weird vibes. I have some friends in local law enforcement and they said they were told to leave it alone by higher ups.

Living in Missouri....this has me so concerned.... I had not heard of this story at all. Was looking to move down south more and now I am totally rethinking it.... Thank you for the video. I love your content and commentary.

I'm sure there are stories from every corner of the state but we just don't hear about them. Cassidy didn't live the type of life that lands her on the front page of the paper when she goes missing. Sadly, there are so many who don't get the attention deserved. The only reason Cassidy's case finally did get attention is due to the insanity of it all. I'm just glad these monsters are off the street.

I live in Missouri, and I know people who knew the lady. The isolation in the state is chillingly a perk as well as a possible warning. People would really want to visit you if you live out of the big cities because there are no landmarks or tourist attractions to invite people. The closer to the center of the state, the more isolation possibilities. Not as isolated as Alaska, sadly. I moved out here to escape family.
