Finally, it's time to start some shotgun testing in Ghost Recon Wildlands. This has been much suggested over the months, but what's the best way to test a shotgun against others in Wildlands? Let's figure it out, and get scientific with range, damage, and rate of fire!

Just make sure they are not summoned vehicles. Your bonus to armor skews it. Tried to blow up my friends AND once and it took like 30 shots with the HTIBDC

I think network stations are very good for checking the effectiveness of shotguns to an extent

You can also test penetration on these with enemies hiding behind walls.. alternatively you could have a friend hold an enemy on the other side of a walll and shoot them to test the penetration

Figure out damage per pellet, how many pellets are fired out of each round and each shotgun, how much spread there is per round per shotgun. Should give you a good starting point.

they still need to fix the scale of the SASG (SAIGA 12) it is way too big and the stock keeps cliping through the shoulder of the character. and perhaps allowing the machineguns to use 4 times scopes? they can use then on MP, why not on single player?

when i run a suppressed AR as my primary, which i rarely do (usually run M4 Comp’d with a 40mm & Acog. & a suppressed MP7.) i like to pick up the spaz12 just because it fits my play style of not sitting still & clearing buildings quick. i find that it works really well for the close range snap shooting aspect, as a shotgun should lol.

So here it is its the Enarm Pentagun and its Brazilian. guns.wikia.com/wiki/ENARM_Pentagun So apparently it suffered the same fate as the Pancor Jackhammer, only one or two prototypes were ever made and it was supposed to go into production in 1988 but the military testing never happened.

How to test shotguns? Well, first you'd test for spread over range at, say, 10-20-30 meters, combine that with pellet count testing, and perhaps damage per pellet if you can somehow make that happen reliably? Also rate of fire and recoil tests are important for shotties.

Good stuff Darkdally! I have messed around with shotguns, and their maximum range does tend to vary with barrel length. Of course, the downside is you lose handling when you go with a long barrel, which slows down ADS speed. As far as testing conditions go, I like to run the 2nd part of Operation Archangel, because you have consistent distances you can work with, and every enemy inside the Chemical Institute is within a shotgun's range.

Thanks for starting this series. I think you should shoot all at 25m, or whatever is the shortest distance based on the guns you decide to test. Compare all their patterns using both aiming down sights and hip fire. Having said that, I think the way they've modeled shotgun pattern is completely wrong. For some reason, there's a difference in your shot spread depending on whether you're aiming down sights or hip firing. This simply doesn't make any sense. It should only vary based on distance to target. As for testing damage, the only way I can see you doing it is in Arcade mode, against rebels, which would require you to do lots of video cuts.

You could use the "over the shoulder" mode when you ADS with the shotguns, that way the iron-sight won't be in the way of the impact splatter.

I had fun in ghost mode with a Texas Ranger build. Using the Ice Shard because it's the only pump action and the Joker revolver. This is just a build for having fun. You can not accomplish anything. I found out that the Ice Shard has the tightest spread among the shotguns. So you will get more pellets onto the target. What I don't know is, wether it does any difference if you get more pellets onto the target. I don't know, if one pellet does the same damage as eight pellets. You can play stealthy to a certain grade, if you make sure no other enemy is close to your target. You will need to stay mobile and run around a lot though. If you are interested in how a German thinks a Texas Ranger looks like, here it is: Body detail: the chevron. I do apologise to all Texans for choosing this. If you choose blonde shaggy hair, you will create your little Chuck Norris. Clothes: long sleeve shirt coyote brown; jeans A in white, because I couldn't find any tan trousers; no vest; cowboy boots. Accessories: any kind of sun glasses; frontier hat, because it has the star but any cowboy hat will do fine as well; earpiece; no gloves; I'd rather went without a backpack (unbi soft should implement this option) but I choose the y-strip because it looks like a back pack anybody could have in his car. For the team mates either go with a similar outfit or dress them up like a SWAT-Team, which goes better with the weapons they use. So you have a SWAT-Team supporting you little Chuck Norris.

Hey Dally you could possibly use the friendly fire in Ghost Mode as a way to test damage. Have AI hold position and fire at them. I used this method to do some rudimentary LMG damage testing myself. They seem to have similar health (with no upgrades) to Unidad soldiers, but they also may regenerate health over time if you take too much time between shots or bursts.

I do this as well. the trick is to down the target to reset damage. And don't shoot them when they stand, they have the damage reduction like the player gets.

In real life this shotgun is call the Pentagun, it’s a prototype semi automatic revolver action shotgun manufactured by the Brazilian firm call ENARM.

Shotguns in video games have a tough life. They are the quintessential do it all gun in real life. So in close quarter games (siege) they are OP and in open world games or large battle area games (Battlefield) they are too weak. Unless they get slugs, then they are OP again. I say all games stop the shotgun discrimination and make them what they should be. Versatile, Modular, easy to use, Powerful and Perfect. Then everyone can know that shotguns are the best.

I'd say the range test would be good. Maybe a spread test, to see how far out the spread is and how it behaves at different distances. For combat effectiveness you could find a small area that has a group of enemies all confined, say in a compound.

The model shotgun is the bomb. Its just like the stampede rifle but a shotgun. And you can acyually see the bullet spread

Nobody would make a revolving cylinder shotgun anymore, for the same reason they stopped making revolving cylinder shotguns in the 1800s. Revolvers can't form the same kind of chamber seal as a semi-auto, and unlike a pistol revolver, it's going to discharge gases and other material out onto your arms and chest. The real-world equivalent was an untested prototype built in the late 1980s by a defunct Brazilian company. A fantasy gun like the Pancor Jackhammer, where you can just make up whatever pretend stats you want because it was never actually made as a production firearm.

For shotgun testing, try the vehicle drop-off rebel side missions; 3 story structure CQB. Also, I think the REV is a bastardization of the Crye Precision SIX12. Keep up the good work!

The only shotgun that worth using is the Remington 870 (the Ice Shard) because it's the only pump action shotgun. (the shorty doesn't really count be still nice)

I've not played Saint's Row since the original game like forever ago. any resemblance in my avatar or whatever you're seeing is coincidence lol. Dumb question. I've got all of the UAV's (can't call them drones since drones are for target practice) enabled and can switch from EMP to Explosive to Medical to etc... But, how do I switch back to just a standard UAV? I've looked to see if I can edit the UAV, but there's nothing. 1CowboyR5 g2, it has almost no recoil, (like every other gun in the game) decent damage, a supressor, the best bullet drop of all assault rifles, and extremely fast rate of fire.

I'd say the 416 if you have it is a very solid choice for Ghost Mode.

You want a suppressed assault rifle with Digital Scope, laser sight or range finder (I prefer laser sights) and M203. That will handle 99% of your problems in Ghost Mode. If you're heading into a loud combat mission (like Madre Coca or Operation Watchman) grab a LMG. A few missions may be best suited for a sniper rifle, but I never really needed one.

Thats due to licensing. Most guns in most games are just slightly off proper designations. Every now and then you'll see remington, colt, HK , FN, or Sig (or w/e else) properly designated but not that often due to cash

I’ve always found the wilderness shotgun to be the best. The range and damage makes up for the two shots in my opinion. I beat ghost mode on extreme difficulty with it. Lol

The 1887 is broken on Xbox. It acts as if it's suppressed. I used it many times within a 5m range in stealth and only got the suspected, never shot heard or hunted.

If they treated all Rebel ops like they did Convoys, I could see shotguns being more viable. I mean, if they were repeatable, and worth 17650 at Tier 1. I think you would see more people wanting to replay those rebel relay stations with a shotgun. I know you can do a rebel spotting on the building and just shot through the walls to kill everyone inside with no timer. Still, shotguns are a bit more fun in this type of CQB rebel OP.

When I run shota it's to back up my pistol when sneaking into compounds ( running quite) and quick vehicles take downs; I run super heavy and my team does the long rang work

Regular credits? you buy them. Prestige is earned various ways in-game and mostly worthless. Opening an item with Prestige credits that you already have gives you 10 regular credits. again, worthless. I just buy them as was the original system.

i ll resume, Spas 12 its the best End. i use shotgun mostly on Radio assault, its very habdly and damage uff, of course, not good against heavy Soldiers, at less u use ths shitgun with only 2 shots, not the shorty. Spas12 its the best
