In greece, doesnt matter what trim you got, every second gen touareg, pre and facelift, all came with off road pack as standart, so locking diffs, low range and air suspension. Pretty cool if you ask me, to be able to get a sporty r line trim with all the off road gear. I wish all suvs still came like that from the factory.

glad were not completely screwed with our non escape versions in the U.S. Would love to import one though. Such a good configuration with the diesel. Thanks for the banger content and another vid featuring touaregs.

Thanks! The R-Line was in off-road mode but it only changes throttle response and the traction control strategy. It's surprising what they can do without lockers. The right tyres help a lot.

We used the SmartTrail website to find the lanes. This also advises if they are open or not, so worth getting - allterrainuk.com/smart-trail/ It's £35 for the first year but you don't need a membership. Once you are in search Leyburn and you will find the lanes around Scar House Reservoir and Fremington.

Good stuff, I’ve got a 7p v8 TDI that I use for overlanding here in NZ. Does surprisingly well off road AS LONG as you hold down the t/c button for 5 seconds in off road mode. If you don’t do that it’s about as useless as a Corolla when it lifts a wheel.

Great Video, Ive been over those lanes plenty of times on CRF 250 two wheels are better than 4 🤣🤣Try Mastiles lane from Kilnsey to Malham Tarn. You will need recovery gear and winches.

Brilliant video. Doesn't the Escape also have a totally different 4x4 setup with torque split 50/50 instead of being front wheel biased?

Im guessing the base line split is changed when you select off road mode 🤷‍♂️

There seems to be some conflicting information online, based on a self study program the 2011+ Escape features 4XMotion which is 38/62 torque split. All other models have just 4Motion which is 40/60 split. This is based on all 4 wheels having equal grip.
