Samael : Absalom was always stronger than the rest of you. Death : Bet
@liam79306 жыл бұрын
Death defeated absalom because of the power given to him by the council. Absalom would have easily done the same if death didn't have said power. Somehow people forget that death was only called death after he killed the rest of their race, same as war, strife and fury
@novadselir10686 жыл бұрын
Liam West you forget that Death beat him twice and second time he was way more powerful and Death was not allowed to have his full power.

@@liam7930 You are literally wrong in everything you said. Absalom calls Death,Death while the former still lives, and Death's journey wasn't sanctioned as said by The Crowfather, Samael, and the Lord of Bones. He didn't even have his weapon.
@FatalFist6 жыл бұрын
The Seventh Seal locks a lot of their power back, allegedly and Death’s arrival in Sameal’s realm proved that the Council has no idea what Death was doing. We don’t know what the four’s original names were. But based on the opening cinematic for Darksiders 3, we can infer that the naming ceremony to the four was just before they set forth to destroy their Nephilim brethren. Their ordainment could have been cosmic, that when they rode everyone throughout creation became aware. That or their battle with the Nephilim hordes took years if not decades or centuries. More than enough time for their new names to circulate through the masses.
@StarboyXL96 жыл бұрын
@@liam7930 "Death defeated absalom because of the power given to him by the council" Incorrect. As was stated by at least one character in Darksiders 2, Death did not have the power of the Council at his full disposal ("You ride without the power of the Seals at your back. You would not survive even the weakest trial of the realm!"). The Horsemen only have the power the Charred Council granted them when they set out on missions given to them BY the Charred Council. Since Death did not have the Council's blessing (Samael: "No, this visit is...unsanctioned.") he did not have the Council's power. That's why Death levels up and gains skills throughout the game, because he is re-learning some of his old powers and abilities that he had before he became a Horseman and learning to mingle those abilities with small, residual fragments of the power the Council gave him. Most of his abilities in DS2 are his own from before he became the Rider of the Pale Horse, while Reaper Form is, for all intents and purposes, the power the Charred Council gave him (hence why he can only use occasionally). Death did not defeat Absalom the second time because of the Council's power (the first time most likely). He defeated Absalom with his own power, thus proving once and for all which of them is stronger.

So I just found you guys and binged your entire Darksiders Lore collection. Really impressive! But it does make me want to extrapolate a bit. I've a theory on Corruption that I haven't seen discussed, and it comes from a detail from the Abomination Vault that most people seem to miss. I think that Corruption actually originates from the Abyss. And the detail? The Nephilim were powered by the Abyss, in exchange for which they fed it whole realms. (This also means the Abyssal Forge had the potential to be a clockwork Nephilim, since it was powered by the Abyss, and according to the Mad Smith could also replicate itself. I guess the other Makers took care of the Smith before the Council could get wind and deal with him like they did Lilith?) Back on topic, we know from both the Abomination Vault and DS2 that the Abyss consumes fallen worlds. Now, add in that the Nephilim were fueling the Abyss as their source of power. This makes much more sense in terms of the Nephilim's rampage, because even if some of their conquest was to find a home for themselves, they also had to feed their power source. But it also means for the first time the Abyss had an active agent, rather than waiting for worlds to die and fall into it. Everything the Nephilim did was fueled by this essence of consuming hunger, the Abyss could seed itself into living, healthy realms. And that seeding, eventually, became Corruption. Death even says in the Abomination Vault that the Nephilim didn't just destroy all life on the Ravaiim homeworld, they corrupted (little-c) it, and so seeded the later corruption of the world itself within the Abyss. And if the Abyss was their power source, they could well have been planting those seeds on every world they conquered. Which would probably mean that even if they had originally planned to keep a particular realm for themselves, by the time they were done it could be so wrecked that it's not a suitable home. Toss it to the Abyss and try again. I think this is why we first see Corruption (big-C) when it takes Absolom in Eden. It's the last chance the Abyss has to preserve its feeding frenzy - it can reach the battlefield because the Nephilim are its agents, and so saves one of those agents. But one badly injured agent no longer rampaging through creation can't power it anymore. The Abyss is going to have to preserve and strengthen that agent until it can be unleashed again. Absolom is Corruption's Champion because the Nephilim were always Corruption's champions, and now he's the last one willing and able to do the job. I'll also note that in DS2 Lilith comments on the Corruption Death carries - possibly a reference to the souls of his race currently embedded in his chest, or just a reminder that, as a Nephilim, he carries this within himself. This may even explain why Absolom is in the Well of Souls. The Well is at the base of the Trees of Life and Death. And per the Abomination Vault, the Abyss is in the roots of the Tree of Death, with the worlds it consumes eventually fueling the Tree's growth. (Seriously, give ch 19 a reread, there's a lot of info about the Abyss there.) Now, I don't know if the Abyss is only passing on its meals to the Tree of Death or to Life as well - I guess it depends if you view them as separate things or just two aspects of the same thing. But if the latter, this would seem to indicate the Abyss is creation's recycling center or digestion track. Worlds are born on the Tree of Life/Death, die and fall into the Abyss, and are composted into the food from which the Trees continue to grow. Corruption, then, isn't so much a cancer on creation, as gut bacteria run rampant. And just like e. coli, while the kind in our gut is essential to our health, a virulent strain that gets into other parts of the body it is devastating to the whole thing. Little wonder the Charred Council decided that this one race was a greater risk to Creation than all of Heaven and Hell combined.

Description of Samael as a frenemy is so true. I love it. I'm going to deviate from my usual Darksiders obsession and ask for an Overlord lore video on the Minions.
@FatalFist6 жыл бұрын
jelenneth in Biblical, he always was. Doing bad things for the right reasons or some such. But I guess it depends where your literature comes from. Some believe that is Satan’s angelic name before he was cast out and Lucifer was his second in command. Others believe they’re two separate entities but Satan and Lucifer are one in the same. It can get very convoluted. But I do think to some extent, Darksiders is following some bible scriptures. I think Lucifer had been banished from Heaven. Used Lilith to create the Nephilim so he could have an army. I think he actually wants to rule the world but also conquer Heaven itself. Maybe we will see Gabriel and Michael in Strife’s campaign - if not, the game that encompasses all four horsemen.
@jelenneth6 жыл бұрын
@@FatalFist Yes, Darksiders definitely takes inspiration from Scripture, but they've never claimed (and I would never argue for) 100% accuracy. So it will be interesting to see what they decide to do in the future, how it lines up with Scripture and where it deviates.

@Xuerios6 жыл бұрын
I've finished it either, but from we know from DS2 that some character is saying that Council is corrupted, Sameal said that for example. And from DS1 we can see scene when War stand before the Tree of Knowledge - and at that memory Council behave like being corrupted - somehow different but still - at least that's my opinion
@Mustafa_96286 жыл бұрын
Yes they are And i think since (spoilers pepole): The lord of hollows was one of the council but due to some unknow accident he was overthrown by them And in ds3 he had a trinket which can destroy them. So i think the council is somewhat of a gathering between one demon, one angel and one (maybe a maker) soooo since lord of hollows was taken out i think the prince of darkness replaced him and he is plotting alone to take everything for himself
@ifoldyougo65176 жыл бұрын
Please do not read this reply until you have actually finished the game. the ending of darksiders 3 did make fury realise that the charred council was corrupted. The dark prince also mentioned in the ending that corruption will spread. After this however, Im guessing the council just returned to normal since death stopped the corruption potentially destroying the rest of it with the killing of absalom.
@Mustafa_96286 жыл бұрын
@@ifoldyougo6517 End of ds3 did confirm something in the timeline of darksiders: 1- the corruption spreading in the world ( which is tied to death's arrival to makers' world and knowing of this) So ds3 ending is after ds2 prologue (thats my theory) 2- the destroyed has risen to claim its throne by beating samael i think so ds3 ending is yrs before the trial scene of war since lucifer says (the council will send war to earth to kill the destroyer)
@ifoldyougo65176 жыл бұрын
pop_ mu22 Maybe the reason why the lord of hollows was "overthrown" was because he was stronger than the rest and harder to corrupt so he knew that something was off and just quit entirely. The prince of darkness could also be corrupted because he WANTS the corruption to spread and take out his rivals. Like what i said in my other reply, they probably went back to normal by the time of darksiders 1's ending.

Any theories? I mean, humans have technology, numbers and sheer survivable instincts, but that didn’t help them contend with... anyone when the apocalypse started. Was something else supposed to happen that would give them a better chance of survival, somekind of evolution, or were they supposed to be Star Trek levels of advanced technology before they were ready?
@christiandreyar57936 жыл бұрын
it was said by the lord of holllows that humans are meant to evovled but the war started prematurely.so probably they have to be same level as stark trek shit in order to fight in the eternal war

If I understand right, when humans die they become reincarnated as demon or angel. But otherwise the Lord of Hollows says that we evolve. But Armageddon happened too early where mankind wasn’t ready. Magic exists. Perhaps unlocking patent powers mankind would be charged to renter Eden and seat themselves at the table with angels and demons; as equals.

does the Lord of Hollows have the Ark of the Covenant chained to his back? i realise its more a question than a lore video, but i find it almost more interesting than some of the characters' lore possibilities - specifically because its supposed to create a space from which God will apear, or can be contacted, depending on your interpretation. Or alternatively, since the ark(if it is one) that the lord of hollows has on his back isnt golden, could it be a counterpart to the biblical ark?
@TrueMastersandMorons6 жыл бұрын
I mean, it doesn't match the biblical description of the Ark of the Covenant, but then again Darksiders changes lot's of things, (Notably what Nephilim are, lol), so maybe? It definitely has that theme of look to it, but we dunno. We personally wouldn't call it a counterpart though since it has both angelic and demonic figures, and we'd presume a counterpart would be demonic only.

Hey so after watching this video I still wonder. If I'm correct, both darksiders 2 and 3 take place during War's imprisonment and you said it might be possible that Death got rid of the corruption and that's why it's probably non-existent in the first game. But if ds3 takes place during the same time as ds2 and in ds2 we visit Earth and see corruption, how is corruption unknown/non-existent in ds3? (At least I didn't see any during my playthrough)
