Fenriz sharing tips, philosophy and warnings about hiking, forest walking, maps, getting lost, sticks, sandals, gloves, and stuff. Got this on a freebie DVD with a German magazine I bought in 2006, which also explains the subtitles.

"Sandals are very bad. Maybe some kind of sandals that have full cover... uh, meaning they're not sandals anymore - they're real shoes." Our man Fenriz has the driest sense of humor and I fucking love it

God when i see Fenriz drunk he reminds me of my Dad's demeanor, both drunk and normal. The most common thing he did like Fenriz does when he's talking, he'll stop for a moment and have a blank stare then continue again

Love love love Fenriz. He's so subtly hilarious. Don't even think he's trying, he just is so lovable, even if that's not exactly what he's going for. On the subject of the video, I totally get what he's on about. I grew up in the mountains in America, and currently live in the Highlands of Scotland, I can absolutely relate to the feeling of being in the wild. I always had horses, and my favourite thing ever in life, still is, is to just hop on my horse bareback and just go. No direction, just let the horse explore. Wonderful feeling.

You know something, he is right. I know what hes saying. Sometimes your eye catches a set up and trees and ground that almost seems as you where there before in another time or in another world. To be honest in that moment you forget about life for awhile. That small moment has a huge impact. I know exactly what hes talking about.

What I wouldn’t give to sit for 20 minutes with a slightly intoxicated Fenriz, just listening to him talk about a topic he’s passionate about. - That’s a bucket list item for sure. Edit: the Futurama reference is 🤌🏼 chefs kiss. I haven’t watched that show in 20 years, but immediately know what he was talking about. 😂

I love this guy. He's a genius actually. I admire Varg for his outlook on many things (I don't admire his acts, just some of his philosophies), but this guy I think is a very underrated genius and has a connection to the past that we all seem to have lost. We all need to maintain a primal connection to our "roots" so to speak in order for our brains to stay healthy. Those who ignore our naturalistic, primal past are doomed to a life of depression and psychotic paranoia. A life of medical support. I would rather keep my brain happy in a natural way. Every race will have its own roots in the past that they must fall back on once in a while. Most northern people are going to be drawn to the forests and mountains.

Even though I love pine woodland nature, The main problem I have with hiking are the wild animals and drunk hunters who aren’t careful
@Zaragil
@Zaragil 3 жыл бұрын
Here in Croatia the wild animals aren't much of a problem (although wild boars seem to have multiplied recently) but hunters definitely are, if you have a pet. I don't mind them if they follow the rules, but almost every week I hear about reckless hunters killing someone's lost dog just for fun. Even if it's nowhere near the hunting-designated territory. Last month there was a tourist that traveled around the world with his dog, and guess what happened. And no one can touch them because they usually have good connections with the police or the ruling party. Until some day they shoot the wrong person's dog...
