I only found your channel about a month ago.. I can't remember who mentioned you , but I have been hooked ever since the first . I didn't know your story until now. I just liked you as the kind, sweet, people that you so clearly are. I watched the video of you turning in your trooper gear this morning, and that led me to this video, You are so young, and so very smart. I'm almost 72, my families opportunities were much different for many different reasons. I'm so very happy for you!! I think God steered you to be right where you are, doing exactly what you are doing. Sharing your beliefs, your calm, steadfast, goals and work to get to where you are today. You don't sound one bit like you are bragging, hopefully your story will encourage other young people to follow your lead.

Dave Ramsey has great advice for getting out of debt and setting up a emergency fund. Totally disagree with him after that. God doesn't want us to put our money into the stock market and save up millions of dollars for a distant future that's not going to happen. The world is ending very soon and we need to use excess money to help others now.

Being debt-free is a wonderful feeling. Don't feel guilty because you’ve been blessed and you’ve worked hard. My husband and I set a budget and everything else was put in savings. It took quite q few years but we were able to build a new house in 2019-2020 and completely paid off. Unfortunately, my husband passed away 4 months before it was finished. He left me in a new house, debt-free. That's the best thing he could have left me. We weren’t well to do by any means. He was a 100% disabled Veteran. It took a lot of prayers and a lot of saving but we did it. It is possible.

Isn't God good! Debt free is a wonderful feeling and difficult to describe. My husband and I reached that status a few years ago. We believe in tithing our money to God. Even when it was hard to do, God always brought back to us abundantly. We look for ways to help others with what God has blessed us with and one day we realized the only debt we had was our mortgage. We prayed about it and wouldn't you know, God provided and we did the same as you. Called the bank and paid off our mortgage. There's no describing that lifted burden. Again, isn't God good! Bless your family as He has blessed us!

Retired after 45 yrs work, enjoyable work, including international travel. Done sideline work in consulting. Now have financial reserves that would allow over my wages at retiring to be drawn each year, and even at current rediculously low interest and investment earnings, would still grow the reserves. Short of hyper inflation like say Venezuela, or a huge complete world financial collapse, unlikley to live out my time in this existence and runout. THAT TO ME IS SUFFICIENT FINANCIAL INDEPENDANCE. Exepting COVID impact on jobs and workplaces, still in demand for casual engineering support. COVID has cut work in offices, so low demand for casual/consulting at this time, but gives excess free time for own projects, that may or may not be financially rewarding but are personally rewarding either way. ENJOY LIFE DOING WHAT YOU ENJOY NOT SLAVE TO ANYTHING TO MAKE ENDS MEET, OR TO MAKE SOMEONE ELSE RICH!

I’m 23 on track to be mortgage free in my early thirties because the mortgage of 150k can be paid with a basic entry level job (which I work an advanced technical position), and I can have a large family and be the sole income…. 👋 You are 100% right about that. Both must have the same thoughts. If a couple doesn’t have the same mind set, it’s a losing battle. My husband and I have been married 52 years, in a few weeks. If anyone doesn’t agree to this line of thought, it ant gonna happen. 👍🙏👍

You can say that again! I married a guy in high school who made great money, made me handle it, then proceeded to spend $150,000 a year on trucks, toys, a pool, etc. We had a motorhome, travel trailer, Lance Camper, 3 pricey vehicles, a boat, Quads etc etc etc. He said his goal was to spend more money each year than he made- to stress me out, he was abusive. I kept a roof over our heads but finally divorced him at 19 yrs. i got a job making $50,000 a year, kept our house (mine) & lived better than him & he was making $300,000 a yr by then & living in an apt! I got my revenge. He still works, fat wife spends his $$ on her 3 kids & she wont travel or anything & they live in an apt. I retired at 55 & I travel etc & still have my home. And his family loves me. I havent spoken to him in 27 yrs.

@@Userxyz-z2d Thank you. Your comment means ALot to me. We’re in Arkansas. Close to what is referred to as The Mighty Mississippi River. Memphis Tennessee is across the two bridges. The second bridge that I watched go up, is shut down now. There is talk of another bridge being built. The newest of the two has a major crack in two places. Some are saying they have known about this for over TWO YEARS! I grew up in Memphis. Back in the 50s it was a wonderful place to grow up in. Not do wonderful these days. But what major city is. ZERO from what I see. BEING A GRANDMA 👵 IS SO MUCH FUN. SOMETHING REALLY SPECIAL HAPPENS WITH EACH BRAND NEW GRAND BABY👶 We have 6, two girls and four boys. 😊 How many do you have? 💙👶💙

She had me crying....remembering the time when both of my kids left for College the same day......lots of tears from me for a few weeks, then I did some cleaning and it stayed that way.....so got to rather enjoy my space for a change....but always happy when they would come back home.....they gotta grow up sometimes.....

I decided I'd rather be homeless and debt-free than be in debt. So I've made it happen. I have some land and a travel trailer. Much happier than when I had my 2500 ft² house and barely enough money to pay the mortgage each month. I'll keep improving my life but never be in debt again.

I went through cutting up all credit cards. I took FPU at church. Live within your means. Save up for your goals. Live like others don’t so you can give like others can’t. I needed a new freezer. I bought that $750 freezer for $400. A floor model never plugged in.

I’m so very happy for you guys. I’m almost 60 years old, disabled unexpectedly and if I could get one wish granted it would be to go back and save and be frugal so these last few years on disability would not have been as hard as they’ve been. It’s actually been the most trying time of my life. Though I don’t owe any long term debt I have zero to fall back on. I tell my grands to save, save, save because you never know what’s over the next hill. Congrats you two. God bless!
