Oh and the way he looks so put out and sickly the 2nd day of jury deliberations (day 26 I believe) as soon as court starts. Like dude, you are the reason for all of this. The audacity to act like this has all been too much for him. His complete absence of self awareness is astounding.

Lolol. I thought the EXACT same thing. But an argument as compelling as his-“straight from the heart”-how could they NOT nullify?!?!? I mean-basically an hour of him attempting to make people feel bad for him. “Nobody else’s heart is as broken as mine.” It’s like-dude. 😑😑😑 How TF he ever thought that that was the best play…? No clue. He’s just an extremely arrogant narcissist who thinks he’s the smartest in the room. He even told attorney Oprah , “I don’t think you’re that bright”

Exactly, an emotional appeal to nullify the law only works if the jury likes the defendant and believes he/she did the right thing morally, even thought hey broke the law. Brooks never gave them any reason to like him. All he did through out the trial was showcase that yes, he is in fact the kind of monster that would drive through a crowd of people and then make it all about himself.

I have! I think this is a very stereotypical representation of what a narcissistic person looks like. Especially one with many traits of a sociopath. Unfortunately, the person who I have experience with was my abuser, a parental figure from my childhood who committed sa and sat in court telling the jury that a 9 year old initiated, manipulated and seduced him, then took advantage of HIM in his "vulnerable state" due to his alcoholism. He legitimately thought he could convince the world that a 9 year old was sophisticated enough and somehow had something to gain by doing this. The documented physical abuse from teachers, doctors and social workers, including photographs of the entire side of the face swollen and severely discolored with the eye swollen closed as a fourth grader, somehow we're fabrications in this grand scheme to terrorize him. To this day, that man after serving his prison sentence, calls HIMSELF. A VICTIM. I used to think it was just his own evilness. I have now learned they ALL think this way. They cannot understand what others feel. They cannot accept their wrongdoings. Nothing they do can ever compare to what's been done to them. Their justifications are all that anyone should ever merit. It's just a sad reflection of what people with these personalities do and the ways their mental illness is reflected.

He was very upset about what happened and showed great care and empathy for the victim and the family. if you want to show hate to someone do it just to the one who committed the crime.

He mentioned the victims. He has said he prays every day for the victims and for all those affected who are suffering from this terrible incident. The American legal system is quite backward and apparently based only on revenge and punishment. Why someone did something doesn't seem to matter in American law. Other countries are setting a much better example Sick people are not punished with inhumanly long prison sentences . Even healthy people, no matter what they have done, can only get a maximum sentence of 20 years . The focus is on prevention, therapy and rehabilitation . The fact that this system works very well can be seen from the low crime rate . Brooks obviously has an emotional regulation disorder . His behavior during the court hearings proves that quite clearly His previous criminal history also indicates that he has an emotional regulation disorder . These people may very well be intelligent and partially function normally in society . But once their emotions are triggered, these people no longer have access to their cognitive minds. They also no longer have access to other emotions . This means that people who suffer from an emotional regulation disorder get caught up in a single feeling, they are triggered. For example anger. You are then only trapped in this single emotion of anger. No more access to logical thinking, no more access to other feelings such as compassion . These people only feel anger. If such a person drives a car in such a condition, for example, he is a danger to everyone who is close to him . Such a person automatically wants to escape from this imprisonment. So he has to release his anger. Healthy people can do this using their mind or having access to another emotion, such as compassion . Sick people can't do that. Once the affected person was able to let out this anger, these people feel normal again, calm and as if redeemed. After that, they have normal access to their cognitive abilities again . Only then can they see and understand when they have hurt. This is very bad for these people. Because they don't intentionally hurt anyone in these phases . An emotional regulatory disorder can be treated . A large part of the therapy is based on behavioral therapy . In civilized countries, if a person with an emotional regulation disorder does what Brooks did, then you can't punish that person. The court orders therapy in a closed psychiatric institution The goal is always rehabilitation back into society . Because obviously the first step didn't work well for this person, the prevention . Some people fall through the social safety net. So society has a share of responsibility when a sick person commits a serious act, and thus assumes joint responsibility . Obviously, this emotional regulation disorder was never treated at Brooks. He doesn't even seem to be aware that he has it. That's normal too. Affected people are unable to organize help themselves. The fact that this system works very well is proven by the very low crime rate in these countries The fact that the American system doesn't work is proven by the very high crime rate . It is obvious that a system based on revenge and punishment cannot work Studies and investigations have proven this for a long time. America calls itself a civilized and progressive country and yet has such inhumane, backward laws. That's very, very sad.

I’m embarrassed to admit how many hours I’ve spent watching this trial. I think the reason it’s so interesting is because this is a direct look into the soul of an evil and narcissistic human being. It’s so rare to get to see these things so directly on display because most people like him are intelligent enough to act normal at times. With others we only get short glimpses into their soul when they get angry and slip up. This guy is completely on all the time. Being in a room with dozens of people of which he injured personally and killed their loved ones and not even at least pretend to feel bad that he was the one that was driving the vehicle is fascinating, it’s really fascinating to see.

This is what not taking accountability in 40 years looks like folks. He doesn't give a DAMN about those people. What a tragedy indeed, heart goes out to all the victims hurt by this sad excuse of a thing.

It's amazing how he tried to play the victim. He claims his mother gets hate mail, his kids are bullied. He is spot on, all of those things are tragic. I hope at some point he is able to understand that he and HE ALONE is to blame for all of the people hurt. One person is at the center of all this pain. Darrell Brooks is the root cause and in 40 years he has never learned to accept responsibility for the pain he has caused those in his orbit.

you do know he is still innocent until proven guilty correct? everyone in the comments just deems him guilty.. this is the problem in this country.. we have our rights trampled every day.. this guy is getting rail roaded by emotional people instead of giving him a fair trial to defend himself in a fair manner (just sayin).. hope the public doesn't convict YOU of something before your trial ends

The fact that he thought the jury would break the law for him after he gave them hell for over two weeks and showed that he doesn't give a damn about anyone but himself. And they've seen the evidence that he did commit the crimes that he was accused of, was baffling. That's why I loved it when the verdict came back and he looked like a lost puppy like, "Yall seriously didn't believe me? You wouldn't break the law for me? Why?" Oh, it was satisfying

The funniest part of the entire thing is that they came back with guilty charges on every single count so damn fast. I would say that their deliberation was so short that they did not even physically have enough time to even read every charge. I'm sure that that was not lost on poor man baby Brooks that they found him guilty on all 76 charges where they didn't even have enough time to read all 76 of them and deliberate them individually. They probably got in the deliberation room and the foreman said "Guilty on ALL charges?" then each of them said "Yep" and that was it.
