What a great interview! I love that Dr. Chouteau explains his research with such excitement. For anyone interested, the game pocket frogs simulates dart frog hybridizing.

Wonderful job Marc! The unplanned visit to see Matheau's research was a bonus and a real treat so thank you for taking the time and making the effort to produce this video to document it and help others to become aware of his work! Thanks also for your kind acknowledgement. It was a pleasure to be able to travel to the rainforest with an old friend!

Yeah wonderful job because it's okay to kill thousands of frogs in the name of research that has no point very good sir you are one of the Smart Ones out here... smh

Thank you very much for sharing this interview, this is the first time I find something on the Internet about hybridizing dart frogs intentionally. A very interesting project. Good luck.

Yeah they only kill all the thousands of hybrids that they produce nothing wrong with that sir

So you think it's okay for them to make hybrids and then kill all of the hybrids thousands of frogs? Just for shits and giggles? Hhhmmmmm...
Y not sale them as pets in a pet store instead of killing them all

Cannot say I agree with this guy.

Just curious - What don't you agree with?

I disagree with this research. I breed dart frogs myself and any hybridization is a big issue. The scientist in this video failed to list any valid connection between conservation, mimicry, and hybridizing these frogs. Not only does it not need to occur, but it is overall dangerous to the frogs and the environment as a whole.

Why are there so many likes on this video when this guy is killing these frogs after he breeds them are you guys fucking crazy I breed dart frogs and I think this is absolutely wrong

All in the name of science my friend. Sacrifice is needed for advancements. Look around its everywhere. Look how many frogs early hobbists killed just to figure out how to keep them alive in captivity. Silence little boy

@@Kenneth91619 I don't agree with either of you there is a balance between morality and ethics as well as advancements in the name of science. Essentialy, every day we are researching the animals around us we are attempting to fix our own mistakes by taking away their habitat. I have been attacked and told my hobby is wrong just because I keep animals.

can you not....don't create hybrids there is no point in it research or not. That's not a very good controlled environment and you could let them get out. Very irresponsible.
@missturmoil16657 жыл бұрын
please. stfu. just please. You clearly did not watch the video. He has no intent on letting them go free.
@dragonspirit11857 жыл бұрын
missturm oil I'm talking about them escaping there is big doors on those and like he said one of them is full of froglets. All it takes is one getting out to cause a negative impact
@missturmoil16657 жыл бұрын
If you watch the video, you see that there is another barrier between them and the outside into the jungle. Even if they got out of their individual tanks, they would be in a room. I think the lad knows what he's doing compared to you. I wouldn't worry about him.
@dragonspirit11857 жыл бұрын
missturm oil actually he just has a mesh tent surrounding those they are not inside and the mesh holes on the other tent outside isn't fine like the ones that they're in. if he actually had those tents in a room or a more controlled situation I would have no qualms about this but the way that is currently set up there is a high chance of escapees and hybrids getting loose
@dragonspirit11857 жыл бұрын
well let me rephrase that if any got out there would be a high chance that they get away and introduce themselves to the local population
