Yea, they arent really for chewing. Also be careful with eating to many at a time. They have a mild laxative effect

There is a lot of soft, more palatable liquorice in sweden than people realise. Not all is the "deadly" djungelvrål. Many of my favorites are sour raspberry and sweet liquorice. So, damn, good !

I am swedish, I call olw cheese doodles for cheese arcs in swedish ostbåge (but in one word) but some People call them cheese hooks ostkrokar in swedish (also in one word). They are a bit wieard (local teasing). 😆

OstKrokar is the right name, but just to make everyone else sourpuss ^^ but the thing whit cheese doodles is to open the bag straight when you get home and let them be open for a few days like 3-5 days and then eat them so so so much better when they kind of getting soft hehe

Läckerol’s slogan is “Makes people talk”, because it’s a breath freshener, like many before me has written. My maternal grandma always have a small package in her purse. I associate Läckerol with church, because my grandma always sneaked me one pice during church service, when I was a kid. She even did it on my grandpa’s funeral a few years ago.

We have sourcream and onion chips too, and nachocheese flavoured cheeseballs. And in our supermarkets there is an isle with all the candy you tried that you can scoop out your favourites and put in paperbags that then is weighed at the checkout. Or you go to a store dedicated to CANDY! So a vacation in Sweden??????

best thing to do if you ever get a bag of cheese doodles again is open the bag and let them stand open for a few days and they will kind of start to getting soft and then the are so so much better !

Yes!! They almost never last that long in my house though. If you put them in a bowl they start changing faster. Stale cheese doodles are the best! 😄

The taste of Läkerol hits close to home. It brings back memories of a lost time. Viva lost childhood. Läkerol is - like many said already - a breath mint, and eating too many at one time might cause you a runny tummy. Personally, I love the taste, and eat them like any other candy.

We love Läkerol in the Netherlands as well, and I usually open the entire roll sideways and ust pop all of sweets into my mouth at once and just enjoy tasty explosion. Good stuff! I'm going to try and find the Swedish chips etc in the stores here because they do look mighty delicious!

I never seen a swede eat chocolate bars like that. it's smaller bites, chewing it more slowly letting it melt and really getting the flavours. And never seen a swede take it out of the pack and hold it with bare hands and again, I have never seen someone just take huge bites like that and just chew a little and gulp down, even a small bar like that takes at least twice as long to eat than it took you. Cultural differences, I guess :)

Läkerol you usually just have one and let it melt in your mouth rather than chew it, if you chew it it will just get stuck in your teeth. It's quite common people have a pack in the car and if you have a dry throat and it makes you cough or just dry mouth they are great to suck on. But you do not eat them like candy, they are more like breath mints. And they can be laxative if you eat many at once so you do not wanna eat a whole pack.

Läkerol are not prescription meds, they are sort of candy, but they are meant for sore throats, but most people eat them as candy as they can last long, but do not eat too many as they can work as laxatives

Cheez doodles are our best snack, but the funny thing is NO ONE in Sweden calls them "cheez doodles", they are called "ostbågar" (cheese arcs) XD OLW: "They are cheez doodles... :( " People: "Thank you for the snacks but we'll take it from here :D " Also, you got the wrong size of the bag. You are supposed to get them in big bags. You start off eating them one by one but after the first ten or so you are supposed to eat them by the handful :D
